Listen, if you want the truth as I see it, and you probably don't, but here goes:

sports fans in general have VERY short memories, and they are easily influenced by mass media mediums. Kobe missed a lot of ill advised shots. Could it be that those ill advised shots / lack of team incoropration with his play contributed most to the closeness of the game score? IMO - Yes. I saw Kobe trying to take over when he should not have been - and even Doug Collins said it during the game in a very tactfull manner. Kobe took a really bad shot, without pass 1, and Doug said something to the effect:

"No one player should try and do too much right now, they need to remember the bench got them the lead......" This was right after Kobe taking an ill adivsed shot without making pass 1. You better believe Doug was talking about Kobe trying to be Mr. Laker on the Olympic team when he should be passing for the best opportunity.

Then, in the fourth quarter, Kobe did it again. This time he made shots, some were also of the higher level of difficulty, and made some great passess, too.

It is the 4th quarter everyone remembers. But not me. I take the whole body of work. And, my analysis is Kobe's game in the Gold Medal evened itself out. He was responsible for a dip in the success during the course of the game, but made up for it by being excellent in the waning minutes.

Does that make him the MVP candidate? No. As a matter of fact, the guy had as many TOs and Assists throughout the tourney. And, at one poing he was 1 for 17 behind the shorter line. However, he contributes in more ways than points, as he is a complete player on both sides of the ball.

Regardless, I agree with all of you that say no one should be voted upon as the MVP. No other country would do that, and that is why USA lost the last 8 years. Unfortunately, our country has lost perspective on what it means to be a team and what it means to push indvidual agendas.

I cosign most of yall dudes. Wade never gets the credit he deserves. I remember in the 06 and 07 season D Wade lit Kobe and Lebron up in every game, but you never heard his name mentioned with them until he won the championship, and that is **** up. Thats something thats wrong with America, we are too biased to everything. Dudes act like they cant support more than 1 person that does the same thing. Sports (Lebron, Wade and Kobe biasness), Hip Hop (eastcoast, westcoast, or South biasness), TV Shows (Boondocks, Family Guy, American Dad biasness), Cars (Chrystler, Ford, or GM biasness) ect. America messes up observation on a lot of things doing this, **** will never be judged properly until people stop showing favortism cause they never are right.
