Which player would you depend on the most to hit late game shots for you including the game winning shot? All three have shown up in clutch moments.

Does it have to be a jump shot? Or just score? Because in this pace and space era even old man Lebron can get to the basket at will. This isn't the early 2000s anymore where you might have a twin center rotations and a ton of bulk packing the paint. If it's just to get points at all on board, easily Lebron.

make a shot? or make a play with ball in hand?

make a shot, probably KD.

make a play, lebron. (this can include finishing himself or making a pass)

Since we don't know what kind of shot it is I'll go with the most complete scorer of the 3. KD.

KD is the most likely to get a good shot no matter the situation.

I'd still rather LeBron have the ball in his hands with five seconds to go - no other player can match his ability to score or find an open teammate.

We obsess too much on who should take the last shot when the question should be which player is in the best position to make the last shot.

I was debating between either last play or last shots but I figure everyone would vote Lebron if I put last play due to his playmaking abilities. That’s why I went with last shots down the scretch on the poll.

Most efficient NBA playoff performer in the clutch for the last six years, Kyle Lowry.

I’ll go with the guy with the better clutch stats. LeBron James.

KD for game winning shot.

LeBron if he has elite shooters/scorers around him and he makes a play to pass. His penetration would get a more open shot for a teammate, compared to a contested jumper by KD.

I'd say KD.

IIRC the stats point clearly to Lebron but in theory I'd prefer KD's shooting. I'd have more confidence in him being able to rise up over defenders than Lebron, partly due to height.

Yeah are we talking Robert Horry or Michael Jordan?

Seriously. Last pure shot of a big game I am going wth Big Shot Rob. He just did it so many times.

Giving ball handling and decision making duties to someone for the final possession? Robert Horry is not even in the discussion.

Which guy had the most clutch game shots in his career? Why is this a question? Narratives are so great and useful when you don't care for facts or stats. KD is the best shooter out of them, by far. Kyrie made the most clutch shot in the 2016 finals, but LeBron had a half a dozen game-winning shots in the playoffs. This is some ESPN type headline.

IF KD is back to 90% of what he was im going KD. I just trust him more on a deep pull up three then I do lebron and i think he can score in more ways. " If the question is whose hands do i want the ball in with the game on the line?" Maybe thats closer to being Lebron because he is better at making the correct play and getting someone else a basket. But I also want my star taking that shot even if its tougher then an open shot for like Danny green.

So id probably Say KD*
* if healthy
Lebron
Kyrie

Kyrie id put below the other 2 simply because he draws less fouls. but he also has the clutch gene. not just game winners, but last 5 minutes he is an assassin

I think "clutch shots" is often poorly quantified.

-Up or down 2-3 in the last 30 seconds?
-1 possesion game in the final 2 minutes?
-game winners?

sometimes the most clutch shot comes ina 5 point game with 2:30 on the clock. like down 5 you get a steal and hit a 3 to cap a 10-0 run (where you scored 8 points) to make it a 1 possesion game.

Sometimes you miss the game winning shot in overtime after you tied the game one each of the last 3 possesion of regulation when it looked liek your team was going to lose but sent it ot OT

So i can see why some of it is opinion/narrative based. All 3 are clearly clutch and have hit clutch shots in huge moments in the most important games.

KD. He can score inside. He can score outside. He wont shoot an air ball if he goes to the free throw line.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D
