AD easy. Wait till the playoffs lol. He has a height/skill that randle can't reach.

Every neutral is excited about Randle having a great season, but come on.
It's time for 5 refs.

Yep let’s pick this year only because Ad has been injured for half of it and randle is playing better than he ever has. Lol. I would still pick Davis for the playoffs. If Davis is healthy then there is really not a comparison in my mind.

Davis has sucked this year (due to injuries), but one season isn't representative of a player's ability. I'd still take AD ten times out of ten.

AD hit a buzzer beater in the playoffs.

Randle will probably make an All-NBA team this year and deserve it. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching him put it together this year.

But c'mon. You don't take 1 breakout season over a proven commodity like AD for a playoff run. We don't know how Randle is going to look against playoff defense We don't know if Randle's shooting is forever for real, or ends up being the high water mark in his career. So much of Randle's success this year has come from suddenly being able to jack a ton of long-range shots and hit them over 40%. I'll need to see Julius Randle as a successful 1st option in the playoffs before I believe it.

I'll take AD's defense and finishing ability over the unknown variable that is Playoff Julius Randle. It's not like Randle offers you some crazy upside over AD. You'd have to believe AD is too hurt to play well in the playoffs, and there's nothing to indicate that.

ill take davis as-is. more size, more length, more skill, better defender. Randles a better shooter right now, but thats not enough for me to take him over a top 7 player, even if he needs crutches to play.

Going into the playoffs... the reigning Champion that went beast mode at both ends of the floor last season and was the Lakers MVP during the first 3 rounds of the playoffs lol easy decision.

Randle is on a hot streak. He needs to put together couple more seasons like this before he gets annointed anything.

Real tough question. Really tough.

Apparently super tough, because you're referencing last year and the op clearly says this year only

Even if you remove last season, why would anyone be dumb enough to take someone that is completely green to the PS over someone with proven elite PS experience over many seasons? The entire question itself falls apart because of how little sense it makes. You can make a case that Randle > Lebron if you go with this terrible premise.

I get that you're excited because you're Knicks fan and it's really cute, but come back down to reality.

Randle has obviously had a better season, played a hell of a game yesterday and objectively outplayed AD.

But the OP's question was if you were a team heading into the playoffs who would you rather have.....and honestly, that's not even something that should be up for discussion. It's AD quite easily.

Very happy to see the player Julius has become though....and glad to see him shedding this bs "empty stats" narrative that's been following him the past couple of years. Dude is a beast on the court, period. And more importantly, it's clear he has been working so hard off the court and I'm happy to see it working out for him.

It should also be noted that Randle has yet to play a playoff game in his career.

Randle has clearly had a better regular season and should make 2nd or 3rd team All-NBA, but the real games haven’t even started yet.

AD is the better player, and I don’t think that will ever change BUT if we’re talking about strictly this year, Randle has been better.
