I hope the suns keep him, they are a fantastic league pass team, mainly IMO, due to the dragon. Not sure if I would have the same interest in them if he left.

The rockets essentially have zero playmakers outside of Harden. They need someone like Dragic very badly and Dragic would get to handle the ball plenty both with the first and second unit.

I wonder if it would have fine to keep him if they never signed Isaiah Thomas. I never understood that signing.

I wonder if Goran Dragic is as cool of a name in Yugoslavia a it is in English.

Rockets would be the only team that makes sense. Pacers & Heat would be interesting possibilities but I find those 2 unlikely to happen. It just doesn't make sense for a bottom seeded / borderline playoff team (that could end up with a lottery pick) to give up a 1st or any more than that for a rental which probably won't change anything for them this season anyway.

That might work. Is Kanter still considered a good prospect?

How about Greg Monroe?

Yah, 22, averaging 14 and 8 (18 and 10 per 36). He is younger than guys like Olynyk and Sullinger who people still think are good prospects, and Kanter is objectively as good as or better than both. Great at scoring in the low post, good shooter from midrange and has added a three point shot. Defensively he is weak. Doesn't hedge well on screens, doesn't know how to guard the pick and roll effectively, won't block shots or get many steals. But he is a good rebounder and is effective on offense at both the 4 and the 5. His success next to Gobert also seems to indicate that he could do well next to Len and Plumlee.

As a Portland fan I'd favor our 2015 pick unprotected, CJ McCollum and Thomas Robinson. McCollum has looked really good lately and can shoot and drive well.

I doubt it. You'd need to find a contender without a good PG that is willing to give up a first round pick for a player that can bolt in 2-4 months. That list won't be very long.

Disagree, IMO you need a desperate fringe playoff team that is willing to roll the dice on Dragic to see if he can push them into the playoffs (see Miami, Charlotte, Boston, Detroit, Brooklyn) and set them up to resign him in the offseason. That should be more attractive to PHX anyway because the pick is likely to be much more valuable.

Right.. Like PHX.. LOL

Off topic a little bit, but say he got traded there...in the off season if you had t9 choose between resigning Matthews and Dragic, who'd you pick?
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I'd choose Matthews. Better defender and pure SG. Would love to have both though. Perfect 3 guard rotation.

99.8% chance that Goran isn't gonna resign anywhere he will have to be a bench player.

What? Isaiah can ball. He is a fantastic player and can't be stopped in transition. Would be happy to have him as a player

Better to trade him for something instead of letting him walk to the highest bidder/contender next season. I hope Houston gets it done, Dragic would flourish there and they'd become legit contenders.

I wonder if role and caliber of the team might be more important than starting.

Manu Ginobili has started under half of his career games but no one thinks any less of him. Winning and playing time should be what counts. In Portland he can play 30 minutes and be a highly efficient scorer on a winning team. Seems like a good option to me. Whether Portland could afford to pay him and perhaps go into the tax (Paul Allen can afford it but I'm not sure he wants to) to keep him. Additionally I'd think Phoenix could get a better offer than what Portland is able to put together.

Dragic would be a nice upgrade on Price/Clarkson for the Lakers if he can play with Kobe lol
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal :D

Nobody plays with Kobe any more. They either play instead of him, support him or stay out of his way.

Kanter and/or Burke for Dragic is fine by me
