Someone explain to me the case for Milsap over Drummond right now

Better record, better defender, and no, not discussing blocks as defense, can hit free throws, can hit the three,

Drummond basically just rebounds a lot more, and that's really it.

I'm convinced Zaza had enough votes but the NBA pulled some strings in the last minute for basketball reasons. Would have been hilarious if he made it.

Drummond is having a way better season then Milsap, GTFO

If we looked at RPG and BPG, but then if we looked at best player on the better team, with the player who is probably the most underrated player in the league and truly affects winning, then no, it would be Millsap, and it's not even close.

Popularity wise would support Drummond, which is the funny part of your post, but better player is Millsap, easily.

That is your opinion and I see no stats to back that up at all

NBA can't have Zaza in the game. In reality he probably beat even Kobe in votes

Well Kawhiet Riot is happy...

The more I think about it, the less I think All-Star game appearances should be used in any meaningful player comparison. Not only does the fan voting allow the possibility for some players to get in who may not deserve it based on their play, but the selections are based on less than 60% of the entire season. All-NBA teams are much more meaningful, though the competition for positions is not always equal.

Another thing to think about - coz Kobe's been playing SF this year, had he been listed as Backcourt like if he was a SG, Zaza would have made it into the starting lineup.

We may be entering a new era where the voting is now almost completely irrelevant. When you can just retweet and pass around instagram photos there no longer has to be even a hint that the person voting even knows what NBA stands for, let alone knows who the players are.

Yeah Milsap is having a really good season when you start diving into the advanced stats, my apologies

I will And1 this, as I made the same mistake yesterday, and secondly, because rarely do people ever admit they're wrong, and that takes way more applauding than sticking to ones guns.

Six Small Forwards to start All Star Game

Post#112 » by atlantabbq99 » Fri Jan 22, 2016 2:09 am

Six Small Forwards to start All Star Game. LeBron James, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Kawhi .

Should the NBA change the voting for the All Stars to Post players (PF/C) and Perimeter players (SF/SG/PG)?

How the heck does a scrub like Green almost get as many votes as Zaza Pachulia?!?!?! This fan voting is a joke!

Give the people what they want. If people want to see 3 SFs that's fine.. It's not like bigs can't make it off reserve spots

I remember a decade ago the west had dirk,kg, Duncan, and Yao on the court at the same time

Gonna be kawhai vs melo at center

Has to be the shortest combined all star staters ever
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

That wouldn't solve the problem, because the positions have become so nebulous in recent years. i.e., are Draymond and LeBron post players or perimeter players? The answer to that question is 'yes' (ha ha), so where do you put them?

No? It just means that the best/most popular players in the association are playing the Small Forward position right now. Nothing wrong with that, especially given that basketball position is a rather meaningless term to begin with.

It is not what the people want, it's just a mathematical SNAFU. Meaning the system has an inherente flaw that can lead to anomalies on a regular basis.

Meaning, I can predict that zero percent of people had a combination of Lebron, Melo, and George, but a great majority had 2 of the 3 in their voting, with one post player like Gasol, Bosh, Drumond, but since the SF vote was more cosistant, and the PF/C vote was more erratic, it leads to the least popular combination of players to be selected.
