Embiid is legit. However, he was injured for 2 yrs.

He needs to be healthy for a season before I get excited.

Even if his ceiling is not hall of fame level, the fact that the Sixers could get a monster defender who is a post threat and can stroke the 3 is pretty damn exciting after all the drama the Sixers have dealt with for the last 3 years.

Embiid and Simmons is an exciting duo with a hell of a high ceiling.

It's a given that Noel or Okafor or both will be moved but I think once that happens, Philly could be a really great situation. Looks like they're getting the Lakers pick this season too.

Maybe Gortat, is actually taller than he's listed? Ya know, like players like Durant, and K.G.

Here's a link that confirms his height.

Gortat was measured 6'11" w/o shoes. He was 21 at the time, so it's unlikely that he grew. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Marcin-Gortat-120/

Embiid does not look like he's 7'2" w/o shoes. For comparison, Boban is 7'2.25" w/o shoes.

Never said that he was 7'2 without... I believe this was measured in sandals...

I had the notion of a kid that is full of **** on social networks and that would never be nothing in the nba. Then i saw a preseason game...... The guy can be a perennial all star and mvp. Really. He´s big. He can get rebounds and block shots just because of his size. And he´s good on offense. Let´s see how injuries treat him, but if he´s never injured (with a big injury. Because of his size only he will miss games here and then) and hie matures a little, he can be a 25/12 kind of player.

His trade value is returning. Philly would be wise to move him before he gets hurt again

Dude looks unreal out there. He's like the Megalodon of Sharks. He's just a big, a dam dinosaur amongst these small mammals out there.

Health is the only thing that can hold Embiid back. It's amazing that he didn't start playing basketball until he was 15. Not hyperbole, his potential is off-the-charts.

Nobody would be willing to give up what'd it take to get him given the injury concerns. Philly has to ride it out.

He's taller and more coordinated, but Embiid is clearly bigger. They play a different position though, and they both look well-equipped from a physical standpoint. Since he projects - and should be - a perimeter star in the mold of Dirk, KP doesn't need the bulk. It would take away from his strengths. Conversely, Embiid will make good use of it.

i like how another poster put it earlier in this thread; he still folds up like a chair at times, and its quite frightening for a fan wishing for a 75% gp season from him. I really hope philly brings him a long slowly because the guy seems to have ridiculous upside. the one thing i love about him is he definitely has the "it" factor on the floor he is indeed a 'competitive fiery basketball player'' not just a prospect a la Len, but the same way all of jokic/kp/KAT are.
