I've never been the biggest Westbrook fan, but I'd go with him if it's between him and Harden.

Would still pick LeBron overall though.

Fair take.

So last two weeks overwhelms half a season, is that what you are saying?

I assume not, just curious though.

No where did I say last two weeks overwhelms half a season you are reading too much into it. Just because harden was leading at that point, does not mean Westbrook wasn't having a terrific season or was not worthy of the MVP. I don't get why Houston fans are so defensive over the fact that narrative and recency bias plays a factor to the award when they both are so deserving of those awards.

Curry currently quietly gets himself in 3rd RPM in a down year.

Harden should go for a 101 point game, in one of these last few meaningless games :D

Lebron has no business being in the MVP race. His team is under-performing by some margin this season.

It's fascinating to me that people have all of these rules for MVP that aren't written anywhere in stone and would, rightfully, seem completely arbitrary to outsiders.

The more rigidly we view what is required in order to be "MVP", the less value the award has.

Isn't the triple double stat arbitrary though? I mean you have to ask yourself is he'd still be in the MVP discussion if he was averaging 9 rebounds instead 10.

Poor Harden I suppose, he should have tried to average another 1.9 rebounds.

The meltdown from Harden's supporters are epic. As if they knew he's losing the MVP race and can't stop from complaining or discrediting Westbrook.Like i said before, both are good enough to be named the MVP this season, and you shouldn't be mad at either choice.
But all this whining comments from Harden fans recently it's why i'm rooting for Westbrook to win it

It's still Lebron, that motivated Lebron that trashed the Celtics is the real MVP of this league, the best player well nigh unstoppable.

A lot more discredit has come Harden's way than Westbrook's this season, that much is certain.

Thankfully, there is no such animosity between the two players, who have known each other since they were 10.

The way they've been playing, they'd be a bottom-five lottery team without LeBron, instead of a 51-win conference leader. That's a huge argument in favor of him as the MVP.

Naturally LeBron is always going to be in the MVP conversation because he is the best player in the NBA.

And that's my issue with the media. What James is doing is also historic but none talks about that since I guess there is no eye catching stat to the fans or media that you can attach to his performances like triple double with WB.

Lebron is the real MVP every year everyone else are just pretenders who have inflated stats due to team play, usage rate, pace and cucked teammates. lebron changes and impacts the game in a tangible way, no inflated stats just real in game domination.

He has two all stars in his team, I will go and get him the smallest violin for some sympathy.

Irving and Love are very overrated. They play like crap without him, which means they're not really stars.

This is not true at all, at least not in this forum. You probably got mixed up when Harden got discredited for his poor defense one or two years ago. The negative views between them from the fans are not even close this season , you hardly heard anyone started a conversation about how Harden was stat padding.
Checked the general board, we've got threads of uncontested rebounds, overrated triple double, leaving defense assignment to steal teammates rebounds etc. just this few weeks.
And you can be sure there were posts about Westbrook stat padding in every game thread. It's not even close at all.

Edit: they even made a video of it. I'd bet you can't find any video of Harden defensive rebounds.

You're right. Kevin Love was a 26/12 scrub before he joined Lebron. We saw how Irving was in last season's playoffs. He has two all stars in his team.
