Who's the better player? Clint Capela or Steven Adams?

Capela pretty easily especially in this modern NBA. The only things I'll say Steven Adams does better is crash the offensive grass and he's a bit more physically intimidating. Aside from that Capela outclasses him in every other facet. No knock on Steven Adams though, I'd put Aquaman on my team any day of the week.

Teams with a starting quality true 5 will pick Capela. Teams without one fear what Adams can do to them. That is the difference at this point.

Capela is a legit DPOY candidate. Adams is just an average starting center .

No, he's not. He's ok on defense but he's nowhere near elite. Adams is a much better defender. Cllint is powerless to C's like Whiteside, KAT. They have their way with him

The narrative was Oladipo and Adams were scrubs, and Gordon and Capela were a better supporting cast.

But now where back to Adams and Oladipo being good again, right? Which narrative do you want to use now?

Adams has to be damn good to still be better with how great Capela's been playing. Yeah, even Thunder fans have to admit, its gotten pretty ridiculous.

I disagree with you that Adams size is irrelevant as there are no dominant big men. That can mean he has a matchup advantage. Did you see what he did to Tristan Thompson last night in the Cavs games? Having a real center when the other team doesn't can be an advantage in itself.

I voted Adams, though I love both players. I could be proven wrong in a year, but I think the Capela as Deandre Jordan metaphor is apt though that's not necessarily a knock. I love Adams screens and offensive rebounding, but it is hard to ignore Capela's superiority as a perimeter defender. Ultimately, I chose Adams just for the eye test of how much he seems to be influencing the game when I watch him. He always seems to be doing something to be creating havoc.

I think it just comes down to both of them better fits for their respective teams and the matchups against the opposing teams. Both are really good, but one has to think, it has to be Capela going forward though. I see Adams as a finished product.

He’s 24, only nine months older than Capela and improved in the NBA every year. That would be a hell of a call to say he’s the finished product right now

seriously though. the sixers played okc a couple of times and i marvel at this guy's strength. he is literally a brick wall and he's mobile and fluid, athletic and tenacious, also very intelligent.

this guy has a cheat skill because the ball always bounces to him. this guy grabbed 10 offensive rebounds against the sixers and the main reason we lost the game to okc.

One thing no one has mentioned:
Clint is the best transition center in the league. Outside of a few brain fart possessions he's the first in back on D and is always sprinting the lane on fast breaks like no center I've seen in a long time. He's the most agile center out there at the moment

Its easy to crash offensive boards when you have Westbrook and Harden putting pressure on the opposing defenses, driving to the paint at will , having defense collapse on them , both of those guys are benefiting great deal from those two MVP candidates.

no it ain't. a great rebounder is a great rebounder. steven adams grabs offensive boards with 3 guys surrounding him in the paint.

On their own I prefer Adams. But the way they are constructed and the way the teams play I prefer Capela.
