I really wouldnt be shocked if RJ wins it. I really don't think a 20/6/5 on 52 TS% kind of season is all that crazy (that is what Tyreke Evans had as a rookie).

You mean the Bruno Fernando era.
Scores, rebounds defends, makes free throws, and will soon be hitting threes. The NBA should go ahead and make the announcement before the distracting regular season begins.

Tough to beat that. The hype on Brantley has been way too much. People need to give him some space.

Memphis should be a fun team to watch. Hawks are not playing Trae, Huerter, Cam ( surgery ) in Vegas. It looks like it will be Hunter, Spellman, Bruno for our highlights and front line in Vegas. They should be formidable but its summer league all the same.

Obvious choice is Zion. Darkhorse, if you can call it that, is RJ Barrett.

I like the Hawks GMs eye for talent. My worse case is Hunter 1st team and Cam is 2nd team. Hunter will get 30 minutes a game. I am thinking Cam will get around 20. Barring a rash of injuries, depth is not going to be a issue on the Hawks front line.

To play the devil's advocate:
Many thought it was comical that some thought Trae Young would be a top ROY candidate last year. How did that end for you?

How that ended for me? Well, my early predictions were Bagley second and Trae third. The biggest surprise for me last year was J.Jackson. I wonder what's the best scenario for you, Hunter MVP and Cam ROY?

I suspect Ja will get the chance to handle the ball so produce early and often. Zion will be a highlight machine and will produce very well too but he's not a primary ball handler so may not get the numbers Ja will.

RJ is going to get the keys handed to him from day one so he will also be putting up some nice numbers as well. White is a sleeper for ROY, I think he might be the most complete PG in the draft on both ends of the court and will get the chance to produce with the Bulls.

Then there will be a few dark horses that rise up to be in the conversation for ROY. It seems like this may be the most wide open and contested rookie award in years because so many of these kids will be opening eyes with their play.

Personally I like Hunter better than Cam. Best case for me is they both end up being All-Star players who can play more than one position.

I don't think he'll win ROY or that he's a superstar in the making but I think Hachimura is going to surprise some people with how well he does.

He may end up the steal of the draft.

Barrett is going to be the ROY, I see him going for 18/6/6. Where as I see Zion more as 14/8/3. I don't see the world in were zion scores 15points a game in his rookie seasom

Efficiency matters, though, and just don't know that RJ will bring it. Also Zion is going to be able to boost his PPG with transition dunks, alley oops, free throws, put backs, etc. He also has Jrue creating offense for him.

As for rooks who will be creating much of their own offense, it'll be interesting how Garland's game conveys. If he can create space and bury 3's against NBA level defenders; he may be able to make a run.

RJ will have the NY Media behind him, though ...

Zion has the national hype. RJ has the NY hype. If they both stumble, its anyone's to win. The minutes are going to be there for a lot of players; the most efficient late lotto pick will make the biggest jump.

In the latest year, only guards has won roty , the only exception is KAT. The probabilities is against Zion imo.
That makes senses, i mean rookie forwards depends on their team to feed them with assist. Look Ayton last year, he puts insane numbers (19pts 9 rbs),arguably one of the best rookie numbers for a big, and he even wasnt runaway....

So i say, RJ Barret will win roty

RJ may have the volume numbers to do it, but Zion’s far better efficiency will be the tipping factor. Morant is another stat sheet filler and will also have a better opportunity since he runs point.

im betting on it, it's the perfect system for him, and no Irving.

The Celtics are known to not play rookies and rookies in second round be Portland bound.
