The media will go crazy, rumors will swirl that Vogel's on the hot seat, and AD will be scapegoated because Lebron's co-stars always get blamed when his teams struggle. That's not exactly an attractive environment to be in.

This is as close to Jeanie Buss' reaction to this story as you'll find. Heartfelt and feminine. That's Jeanie.

Players who say they stay end up leaving anyways, so it's a useless question to ask

The realgm clown just clocked it. Morning Tabloid Thomas.

It's weird how you post only about the Lakers.
Fate doesn't allow everyone to be born and raised in Southern California as Laker fans. For some of the others, constantly posting negative things about the Lakers helps to relieve the frustration about that.

Which means no state sales tax or massive homeless camps!

when you make the money they do, the income tax is worth the perfect weather...can you tell where you saw the homeless camps in Brentwood, Hollywood Hills, or in WestLake Village (where AD currently resides). I am really curious to know where you saw these camps, maybe you can submit this story to the LA Times...

Going to Clippers. No point in LA as they would never win

Davis leaving the Lakers has been my bold prediction for a few weeks. Glad to see that maybe there’s something to it. Miami, Golden State, Boston or the Clippers I bet.

I'm sure most agents tell their clients not to be committal for any reason. There is no advantage of boxing yourself in a corner even if he intends to stay long term. No incentive of making that public.

Look what happened to Kyrie, he probably didnt know this past season was going to be disastrous for them.

AD is a punk, if the season doesn’t go as expected for him and the lakers he will sign elsewhere next summer. He’s probably going to hate lebron by then so it’s possible for him to leave. If you think about it only Wade was friends and was able to tolerate lebron, all other guys hated being teammates with him despite the success.

He's no less likely to re-sign than Kawhi and PG. Both their respective teams are "on the clock", but they all want to be here.

Makes for obligatory ESPN and FS1 Hot Takes though.

I think what he said or didn't say doesn't change the fact that he is a UFA after the season and anything could happen, it's going to be pros and cons and what his heart wants.

If the Lakers season goes at least reasonably well (most likely scenario), then literally every sign points towards him re-signing- good team, great market, he likes LA, biggest contract. Even if he doesn't commit publicly.

If the season is a worst-case scenario (Lebron shows decline, injuries, team doesn't mesh, etc.), then he'll think about other destinations regardless of what kind of verbal commitment he has made (publicly or privately.)

We finally have a competitive league with some real parity and potential rivalries. Can we finally just talk about basketball and not free agency speculation.

Agreed. Two year windows, maybe 3 for LAC. They gotta win the title like yesterday.

Then why did he seem non committal? He doesn't need leverage, he's getting max money no matter what

It’s somewhat of a dream hah but Davis leaving the Lakers wouldn’t be the craziest thing to happen in recent years.

Blazers will have roughly 20mil in cap room next summer with the potential to open up more space.

Lemme ask you this, Froobz. Lakers vs Celtics. Who you got and why?
