When goulding gets meaningful minutes its best not to get your hopes up

We're still lacking wing players. Mills however always steps up and plays well for Australia.

OT, but Australia looks so beautiful and interesting and is showing itself really well throughout leading up to the games.

Happy for Patty that he's doing well for the team. He's such a great community guy as well, bringing attention to Aboriginal culture and giving aid to their needs.

Kemba is far and away the best player on Team USA and it's kinda sad how big the gap is between him and the others

Australia’s pick and roll defence is laughable. The coach Lemanis, is the head coach for my team in Australia and he runs the exact same plays. He lets the big man sag in the key. USA had so many wide open jump shots off pick and rolls.
The same thing happened against Canada last week and he still hasn’t adjusted.
USA shouldn’t be happy about this win. Teams like Serbia won’t allow easy wide open shots like the ones they got tonight

What are other teams options? is serbia going to be doing a lot of switching? I dont see how jokic or raduljica hard hedging on guys like kemba or mitchell, they will blow past them with ease. Its why jokic plays conservative defense for denver, he hangs in the paint he is not switchy.

I can't imagine how bad the sightlines are in that arena. I feel bad for the people that paid a lot of money for those tickets. I hate when they play basketball games at those kinds of stadiums.

There's not a lot a coach can do with Bogut or Baynes. The centers cant stay in front of quick guards.Of course he's gonna risk with USA takin jumpshots.I dont see how Serbia can do much better in this regard with Jokic,Marianovic and Milutinov as their bigs. All of them slow footed who cant really guard in the perimeter.

I was at the game. The court was raised off the ground which made the sight from the bottom level bareable.

Still big waste of money if you has ground level seats. Especially since they were literally plastic chairs.

The second and third levels are built for AFL football which is played on the entire oval so they are much further away than the NBA levels.

Spectacle was good and had the NBA games vibe but was lucky to win free tickets as I wouldn't have paid 100 bucks plus like a lot did.

As far as the game goes Aussies couldn't handle the pick and roll and USA destroyed them from the top of the key the whole second half.

Kemba clearly the best player on the court tonight. Was good to see Patty work really hard off ball and it paid off but they defintely gave him a lot of attention.

Trap, hedge, go under the screen rather than fight over. Bogut and Baynes do just fine on a bigger nba court with tighter whistles from the refs.

US better be prepared for 6-7 offensive fouls when they run into some good defensive player

We played well in the first but that second half performance...... We're so not getting a medal this time around are we. We have no answers to any of their star players at all.

Lemanis needs to go after the world cup, he's not even that good of an NBL coach nowadays, let alone international coach, now that the league is back on its feet, spend some money and find a good international coach (hell, bring in Brett Brown, not like being a coach for the national team is a full time gig anyway and he has plenty of experience in and around the NBL and during the golden era as wel).

That would be an interesting fit but wouldn't he just take a european gig instead possibly?

Tier 1 - USA
Tier 2 - Serbia
Tier 3 - France, Spain, Greece, Lithuania
Tier 4 Australia

3 out of these 7 should medal.

depends who offers him job or better conditions or any other thing important to him (or both sides).. I personally believe he would rather take Aussies than some Euro team, coz of a challenge, coz he achieved in Asia and Europe, but not yet with AUS

There arent much better gigs than that Australian job. Lots of promising players and geographic location pretty much guarantees spot in every Olympics and World cups.
