It was Kawhi. He shaved, but the stubble grew back, and put his hair in a bun.

The person who brought up the innocent until proven guilty thing is Australian so good job, good effort. He also isn't wrong if he was talking about perceptions outside of court which I think he obviously was. I didn't need OJ Simpson to be found guilty of murder for me to think he murdered his ex-wife.

"Innocent until proven guilty" is an excellent principle in law, but it doesn't need to apply outside the courtroom.

yeah and im talking about when have you reached the proven guilty moment

maybe ill troll some youtube comments of a video that has clear evidence of criminal activity and post "innocent until proven guilty"

but anyway its meant to be a nothing throwaway line, I don't want to be known as the guy who has strong feelings about the justice system

No, that was Miesha Slayton, another sister.

And you have posters in 1 thread involving domestic violence saying the man should be locked away forever based on a news article with no evidence or facts known to the public, but in this thread it’s innocent until proven guilty because it’s a female.

Double standards.

Kawhi did say he wanted to play in LA to be closer to his family. Be careful what you wish for......

I didn’t think I had to expand on it but maybe it wasn’t clear so I will. When I mentioned punishing the family it very simply comes down to

1. Having your name publicly associated with such an act

2. The potential for messed up fans to say some stupid things to ‘trash talk’ him in this regard.

Unfortunately we’ve seen it too many times with some fans not respecting the lines of trash talk and by making this connection you’re potentially creating an unnecessary scenario where a fan crosses that line.

I don’t see any benefit whatsoever to providing such information to the public.

They do it for more clicks pageviews and so that we can know more about his background.

I know why they do it, I'm pointing out how I find it unethical and inappropriate

I think your perspective is fair and I certainly agree that media sensationalism that is grounded only in the pursuit of clicks and bucks and does not care in the slightest about the impact of its storytelling on the actual lives of actual people is a real problem. Having said that, if I am being entirely objective i'd say that at the very least one could answer your question about "one good reason anyone should know about the connection to Kawhi" with the fact that this could very reasonably be expected to have an impact on his mental state and possibly be a reflection on an unstable domestic life that could affect the team and the fans, especially since his whole stated reason for returning to LA was to be home with his family. I don't think it's a huge stretch in this case, though as I say agree with your general point.

IF you are a public figure, your personal life is scrutinized in every single way, including family, and the company you keep.

A family member of a famous anyone murdering someone is going to make the news. Its just the way it is, even if they have never even met.

I guarantee you if Tom Brady's 3rd cousin twice removed murdered someone, and they connected that, it would make ESPN for some god forsaken reason.

It's news because people care.

What does that even mean? How is that in any way related to what I wrote? People care? What the hell is going on in this thread, I couldn't be more clear...there is no reason for us to know that she's Leonard's sister, what good does that do to anyone?

Because people care about the personal lives of celebrities.

If you think that people shouldn't care about this type of info, that's your right to do so of course, but many do (probably you as well, depending on who is being spoken about).

Thoughts on several points raised...

Releasing info about family- Where I chose to live, outside of my home state of Cali, We have name suppression granted if it makes it hard to have a fair trial or hurt someone else..There are criteria. USA click bait makes fair trials hard...Sell tons to media, then follow up court shows about unfair trial. I most recently watch laci petterson. It brought up such points. Big industry the prison system media reporting, policing

Death penalty as deterrent- I suggest issue is USA culture brought on by political and economic structure. Economics and politics used to be different side of same course as curriculum. USA has highest incarceration rates etc. Lots of poverty etc. If people want different outcomes, they have to have a different recipe.

You’re still missing my point, the ‘celebrity’ didn’t do anything wrong and shouldn’t be mentioned when/if a family member does something wrong

Secondly I find the whole celebrity BS to be ridiculous. I’m not interested in people getting any kind of special treatment OR vice versa because they play a sport at a level better than the rest of the world, can sing, act...whatever it is.

They bleed and defecate just like the rest of us, they’re not special and I don’t care what they’re doing unless I choose to view them performing in their specific field

I despise that they get given free things when they of all people can afford it, but I also don’t feel it’s fair to constantly harass them with cameras and include their names in news reports when/if someone related to them commits a crime just to get extra clicks, it’s not ethical

People will say “they chose that life”, my response is that I have an issue with just accepting that we need to operate under these conditions because it’s become ‘normal’ to make these people more important than what they actually are

Let them play their sport, sing, act, entertain or whatever it is they do and then go about having a normal life.

We don’t need to place them on a pedestal or tear them down. We certainly don’t need to know what they wore, who they’re dating, where they went on holidays or what crime a family member committed, the whole thing is ridiculous

Probably 'just' a robbery gone wrong. Roughed up the old lady for her bag/money. The lady being old and fragile died because of it.

Do stupid thing, get stupid prizes. 6'2" 320lb of a womanbeast probably underestimated her strength and applied a bit too much force.

I agree the clippers kawhi leonard is exempt in all of this but because their related it gives this story legs, we'll see tomorrow when the talk shows come on if they talk about it , this is reprehensible and if she indeed did do this heinous act should be held accountable because that family deserves justice & hopefully this shouldn't hang a dark cloud over the clippers high expectations for next season.
