Fans and Jazz Players already seem to hate him for his irresponsible actions, I think thats punishment enough.

Just like if a player says something they get a fine, they deserve to get a fine if they act stupid.

Where were you calling for a fine before it was reported he had the virus?

The public outpouring towards him is punishment enough I think. He could've very well gotten people sick while actually playing and not touching the mics anyway, basketball involves a lot of contact.

He should be forced to play for the team with the worst current record next season. That will teach him.

So he touched some stuff he shouldn't but seems fine.

Rude, got better.

if the NBA punished people for saying stupid things then Kyrie Irving wouldn't have any money.

He'd stop saying stupid things real quick if they did fine players for stupidity though.

Didn’t the reporters say he did it to show solidarity because they were having their access restricted? The NBA was making them stay far away from players to keep them from infecting a player, and Gobert was essentially saying “I am not afraid of you guys. See, I touched all these mics.”

Not a smart thing to do- especially as a public figure- but not intentional or terribly rude like people here are making it out to be.

According to this reporting, Jazz players are pissed. Is Gobert’s relationship with the lockeroom salvageable?

that's not a virus, that's the mascot of my local football team.

Never thought I'd see a Partick Thistle reference on here.

ha, Partick are the lower tier team in Glasgow and their ground is next to me (I go to games sometimes cause my gf is a big fan). And since the two main clubs here tend to inspire a lot animosity, sectarianism and violence Partick tend to try and counter this by having a sort of more care free, light hearted attitude. They're always releasing crazy strips and tend to support left wing causes (there newest strip has rainbows on it in support of LGBT rights).

So they asked a local artist, David Shrigley, who does disturbing doodles to design a new mascot a while ago. he's meant to be an evil sun god or something.

Just a very random appearance by him but a good one!

He's been embarrassed to the point that he made a public apology. I think that's appropriate. If Gobert serves as an example to the community of how not to behave then that should be satisfactory.
