I don't think Ewing was/is overrated.

There was like a four year period (1990-1993) in which you could've made a case for Either Olajuwon, Robinson or Ewing being the league's best center. 1994 is when Olajuwon took the title for undisputed best center along with his 1994 and 1995 playoff performances.

He had some solid teams around him throughout his career. Was so close to winning a title.

I don't know where I would rank him on the all time list. I don't think he's considered a top 30 player of all time by most.

Ewing is the man. If anything he's underrated. He carried the Knicks franchise for over a decade. If you think it's hard winning in the NBA, try it in New York. Then top it off by playing in a brutal Eastern conference with the 80s Pistons, Celtics... The 90s Bulls, Pacers, Heat.

Not to mention his supporting cast where the second option was John Starks. If you're leading a team to game 7 against prime Michael Jordan's Bulls when your second best player is John Starks - I don't know where that's supposed to rank you all time, but it's pretty damn high!
