He was too scared to even talk around his dad and people thought he was going to be what Luka Doncic is, how?
I do think the fact that he literally was paraded around by Lavar as Lavar's golden ticket to fame and money while he sat there in the corner and just had to deal and do everything Lavar's way should have been more of a red flag. The pressure that kid had on him from the better than Steph comments, to the show, to Lakers making the playoffs claims by Lavar put a huge target on his back.. ask Pat Bev game one of Lonzo's career. The mental and physical preparation wasn't there and then he got thrown the Lakers savior title by Magic. It was brutal. I think he struggles to find his own voice which is obviously not a great trait for a pass first PG who people thought would be the quarterback type.
That said, he's an elite defender, great rebounder, improved shooter, and can really move the ball. It's a mentality shift that he needs occur and if so he'll eventually be a near all star level impact player. Or he can go the way of so many guys that find themselves journeymen always looking for that fresh start. But NO couldn't be more perfect for him. Curious to see how they feel.
