Fun fact. Last season Derrick White and James Harden averaged more blocks per game than Ibaka.

Would be great to get 24 year old Ibaka, but all he has to do is actually try on defense. Something that was foreign to Harrell who regularly got burned just standing still, not even trying to get a stop.

Whenever people make jokes about Ibaka being older than he is, it hurts my soul because I'm a month older than him.

Ibaka had a career year at the 3pt line last year. Look for major regression like Danny Green with Lakers.

"Major" regression seems excessive. Since he started taking a decent amount of three's (14-15), and before last season, he was a 35.6% 3PT shooter on 3.2 3PA in 30 mpg. Last season he was a 38.5% 3PT shooter on 3.3 3PA in 27 mins. He beat that mark in 16-17, and he wasn't far off in 14-15 when he shot 37.6% 3PT, so I think he should be okay.

Dude is meh, negative RPM and PIPM. Despite his elite defensive years in OKC he's no longer a good defender, just average. Was the worst defender in the Raptors rotation last year.

Ibaka won't be shooting as well without Lowry to set him up, and he was our weakest defender... but he's still a great signing, he will definitely be an upgrade. Not a great passer, but at least he's not a non-shooting ball hog like Trez.

Clippers really need to find a PG who can properly run a pick and pop.

The Clippers averaged 17 pts in the four 2nd half quarters of game 6 and 7, they didn't reach the 20 pt barrier in any of those quarters, that part has nothing to do with Murray going crazy.

This hurts. Ibaka was underappreciated by the raptors this past year. Will be extremely hard to replace his production. We've taken a step out of true contention for next season.

I can see him maybe being okay with AD, but for sure not with Bron and AD

Harrell is a relatively poor defender because he gambles too much and is undersized.

On offense though he is a beast in the paint and will benefit from screen roll action with LeBron.

He will fit decently with Davis because Davis can play on the perimeter. However, Davis is really at his best midrange and in so that could be an issue.

Davis is not at his best when shooting the midrange, actually was pretty poor in reg season. I believe in the mid to high 30%

But he caught red hot fire in the post season

He is at his best when rolling to the rim, attacking slower footed bigs, and posting up smaller guys

You are right. I just meant that Davis is best on offense in the same places that Harrell would likely prefer so that could be problematic at times.

This is a big deal for the clips in the sense you can’t have an image of slipping behind the pack when you have George and Kawhi in contract years. I think that’s why they went 4 years on Morris and made sure this Ibaka deal happened, the downside perception wise if they lost pieces and slipped was not something you could do because...if Kawhi or George left, oh my...

Exactly. Also, Murray was contained fairly well until the end of the series. In fact, at the beginning he seemed befuddled.

for the money and their needs, ofc its a good deal. Im just saying people expecting great or even good defense are gonna be surprised. And you better hope Ty lu is smart enough to keep him strictly at C. Playing a 2 big lineup with him at the 4 is far from ideal

I'm happy with this pickup. I'll take Ibaka over Harrell easily. Harrell is too emotional and was the center of a lot of friction in the locker room, so replacing him with one of Kawhi's old teammates will probably have a positive impact to team morale. Trezz overachieved and then it got to his head. He couldn't handle taking a back seat when two superstars joined the team.
