Why would the Raptors do that deal?

Schroeder can walk next year, so they wouldnt be getting any real assets back for a guy in Lowry that multiple contenders want. They arent going to ship him away for 0 return value just because.

Dont know about that. Schroeder was a bad contract every year until last year, which also happened to be the biggest aberration in shooting for him. When he gets that 20 mill contract he wants (or that neighbourhood), he'll go back to being the bad contract he was.

I'm pretty sure you can't do any sign and trades.....Lowry saying he wants 2/50 is more off an unofficial agreement that he wants to have with whichever team he ends up with. Also a S&T has to be at least a 3 year deal.

They could do it as a favor to the player and his agent, especially if they aren’t expecting Kyle to stay next season.

It also helps the tank, and if they decide they don’t want Schroeder, they can sign and trade him for a few seconds.
