the problem, that is hidden in 76ers..is unplayable in Playoff with Simons, .. both terrible, shooting .. If 76ers is going to stay with Simons as a Franchise player, I would like to see him change, the boy needs a leading role, the best defender I ever saw. I remember a Block to Beal, after being dribbled unbelievably .. One to Booker or Markkanen with later Robbery, A blockade of Houston by a changed hand, after eating a bomb ... Absolutely incredible .. I would like to see him 35 min per game in the Kings, and see his impact

Matisse Thybulle is the NBA version of what Deion Sanders was in the NFL. He becomes the shadow of the man he is defending. He also slips past screens like no one I have seen in a long time.

Box Plus/Minus is a very good offensive metric, but it struggles some with defense. As mentioned before, when all you have is a box score, you cannot estimate defense very well. Not including minutes per game in the regression also hampers the accuracy of the defensive estimates. In other words--take DBPM with a spoonful of salt.

Yuck.

Except MT isn’t a great defender just because of this one stat, he’s a great defender because every stat plus the eyeball test clearly indicates that he’s a great defensive players.

He’s in season #2 and he’s going to be one of the best perimeter defenders the NBA has ever seen. He’s a freak.

It's hard for me to believe the Sixers wouldn't start a "great" defender as a truly great defender can move the needle even when providing little offense.

I'd be glad to entertain the theory if stats which actually represented individual and team defensive impact were provided.
