The full quote has Embiid going through the entire sequence of events in which the skipped shot, missed free throw, his own turnover, and finally Trae Young's 3 point shot as being the moment that he felt the game turned. Collectively.
So the original OP tweet is just some dude looking to get clicks / retweets / whatever. Sure, it still throws some shade on Simmons (which is deserved) but it's not like Embiid actually blamed the entire thing on him.

It is the truth. Embiid did choke, but you can't win a title with Simmons as your second "star." Players that cannot score don't have real value even if they are great passers and play good defense. You have to have guys that can score to win.

But with that said, ya that no doubt was the turning point, so Embiid is just speaking the truth. Plus it has to be extremely frustrating playing in that offense when you have to play 4 on 5 every possession. Hell you could tell Doc was trying his best not to throw Simmons under the bus as well.
Simmons is officially done in Philly.

4 on 5? Did Thybulle make some shots I missed?

Meh he's a bench role player.
Plus in his 21 minutes tonight he attempted 2 3s and he made 1 of them. So to put that into perspective.
Matisse (tonight):
21 minutes, 1/2 from 3
Simmons (playoff career):
1192 minutes, 0/2 from 3.
You have to go so far out of your way to take that small amount of 3s in that amount of time when you're a perimeter player.

Someone tell the "Simmons still has big time potential" guy than even Ben doesn't believe that
So stubborn. This is on the whole Sixers organization for coddling him, for enabling his desire to not take any jump shots at all. It's also on Simmons for being such a weakling.
If he won't accept why he needs to change, he should just retire from basketball and find another Kardashian to fool around with. He just reeks of lousy work ethic and incredible stubbornness.

PrinceAli wrote:Fully agree with the sentiment but Embiid also had 8 turnovers. If you have 8 turnovers as a CENTER then you gotta take some ownership too
Also Thybulles foul was just as bad, if not worse
