What would be his historical comp this early in his career for how bad he’s been relative to draft position?

Killian Hayes, Patrick Williams, and Isaac Okoro are complete zeros.

I was trashing Kill a few years ago when he was a draft prospect. I called him another Dante Exum, with all of Exum's flaws. Alot of posters started trashing me and said i was trolling and racist..... LOL

I mean Pistons drafted 3 points guards in a row. They clearly saw some bad shadows the first year Hayes was drafted.

Hayes - pure PG. Cade - PG in a SG's body. Ivey - SG in a PG's body.

Hayes is a clear bust. Cade is is most likely bust for a #1 pick, solid rotation player outcome - Wiggins or something similar in impact when on a good team. Ivey looking good so far I guess.

Didn't the piston give Hayes the keys to the team in his rookie year?

2020 will go down as a pretty poor draft. I’m not even completely sold on Edwards and Ball yet. Hali might end up the best player when it is all said and done.

Worth noting 2020 had no workouts allowed with prospects and no combine. Teams were basically drafting on youtube videos.

I think the majority of Pistons fans are pretty disappointed with how Hayes has turned out and would be OK with moving on from him. We walked away from that draft with Beef Stew at #16 and Bey at #19 which makes it an easier pill to swallow. Unfortunately Weaver confirmed the 4th year of Hayes's contract just before the season started so we're likely stuck with him at 7.3M next year (I can't imagine any other teams are lining up to trade for him at that price).

This. We aren't expecting anything from him anymore, he's easily replaced. We're very familiar with bad drafting so it's whatever, another brick in the wall.

Yeah, bold move guaranteeing that salary based on what he's shown so far. I'd think most comparably poor performers would have had their option years declined.

Dante Exum is generous. Exum had a great first step, could get to the rim, and had some productive years as a rotation player. He didn't have a good career but he also never managed to stay healthy.

Hayes has really never looked like he belongs on the nba floor. He is a serviceable defender and can pass the ball, but that's mostly irrelevant because he's a complete non-threat to score the ball.

They would all thrive more on the Spurs Warriors or Heat.

Okoro could be a Torrey Craig/PJ Tucker type

Patrick Williams could be a Jonathan Simmons before the injuries. He just needs to focus on adding a 3 point game

Hayes might end up a later bloomer and be like Shaun Livingston since he is tall and can handle the ball

Their size for their position fits the future Nba. They are just raw or have worked on the wrong development drills.
