Re: Hoopshype's "20 Greatest PFs ever" list
Pretty good. I've got my own list to compare to. Most of the players are near where I'd have them. The biggest changes I'd have are to move Hayes down a bit and move Sheed up a bit. I'm also not sure I'd have Jerry Lucas or Draymond on my list. Some guys I've got in my list that aren't in this list:
Chris Bosh (was he considered a Center for this?)
Horace Grant
Larry Nance
Shawn Kemp
Vern Mikkelsen should get some consideration as well.

The guy was all-defensive 1st team for a decade straight while being very efficient on offense. The ultimate team player. People want to exclude him because he wasn't a first option...LOL...
jones was very legit. i mentioned him earlier when i was going off on dray as a defense only guy but i was flying off the cuff. that was a bad comp. he was elite defense and far from defense only anyway. his first 8-9 years he was a stud with hall of fame metrics and 5 all star games.....a college resume that backs the talent up too. so good point if this was refering to my post

Re: Hoopshype's "20 Greatest PFs ever" list
The problem is we see them in the position they had more sucess.
Gasol was allstar and won rings playing PF. Then he went to bulls and became C.
Same with Duncan.
Bird had his best years with mchale around.
James and Kd won their fame as small fowards.

Evan Mobley should be somewhere between 15 - 20.
I can see him moving into top 10 by the end of the year.

also, I understand Draymond being on the list but they are overvaluing championships. in his best year, here are Draymond's numbers:
11 / 7.6 / 7.3 / 1.3 /1.4 shooting 45%
Dude, are you seriously that bad at looking up stats?
14ppg, 9.5rpg, 7apg, 58.7TS% in 2015/16 with elite defense.

Based on his 14ppg average or his 7rpg average? Maybe his 0 All NBA selections?

McHale is too low. He was unguardable in his day.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Dirk is clearly number 2. And Pau beats Davis as it stands for now.

There is no gm ever who if given a choice as who to draft to start a team picks frigging dray, Jones, or Dave frigging debugger over guys like bosh, Blake, Kemp or even 100 other dominant offensive types.
Sure those guys had massive value to the loaded teams they played on but in different circumstances besides playing with other HOfeR'S nobody would even remember their names.
Also... Barkley higher and Garnett lower
Best take in the thread. All the talk of how tough everything was back in the day and how no one is playing defense anymore has led to crazy romanticization of defensive efforts. KG a prime example, great player no doubt but I'd take Nowitzki, Giannis or Barkley's clear offensive superiority over him any time.

Tim duncan is the most overrated player imo.but its warranted. gotta take Timmy in the top three. with dirk and giannis. then im taking Rodman and Barkley. then Malone,kg, and Pau and also darymond top ten

Re: Hoopshype's "20 Greatest PFs ever" list
All these lists are subject to the limitations of the people making them. Some are too young to have seen games in 80's and are just going by stats online. The game is very different than it was 50 years ago
The perfect example of that is Bobby Jones. He's listed as a PF here because when in PHIL playing alongside Julius Erving he was the PF. But when he was just as good in PORT with Walton at C and Maurice Lucas (who should be on the list 12-16) as the PF Jones was definitely the SF. Also look at the Chicago Bulls of the early 70's Chet Walker 6-7 HoF and Bob Love 6-8 #10 retired by the Bulls they were forwards, they took whichever guy bigger or smaller that came down the floor in front of them neither was PF pr SF.

I assume he means too low as in he shouldnt be top 20 closer to 50 on the list. Needs a higher number next to his name.

I'd take Bobby Jones, Buck Williams, Larry Nance, and Shawn Kemp all day and every day over the likes of Draymond Green, Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace, and Lamarcus Aldridge.
Also Bobby Jones never played for Portland. You may be thinking of Bobby Gross. Jones did not play SF until he was at the end of his career in his 30s in the mid-1980s.

This is the only list out of the 5 that imo is reasonably well done though I wouldn't have Giannis quite that high yet.
