Wasn’t Horford in protocols at the start of the season? Or am I misremembering this?

Yeah he had COVID and was in the protocol the when the season started. Celts played Bucks the other night and then Giannis went into protocol the next day, so we were kinda expecting something to happen. But the Horford one is a little weird since he just did this already. Then again Horf and Grant W were the two guys primarily guarding Giannis.

Edit: I just remembered Portis is out too. Giannis, Portis, Horford and Williams were draped all over each other a few mights ago so I supposed this was not completely unexpected lol.

Don’t know about Horford’s vaccination status, but I assume he’d have some sort of antibodies after getting covid and he’d have even higher protection if hes vaccinated. I wonder if he ends of testing out of the protocols.

I'm curious, is it possible to be infected by both the Delta and Omicron variants simultaneously? And if so, can the two variants merge to form an even worse, combined version of both variants?

Moderna’s CEO made this suggestion yesterday or the day before. I am skeptical

I am also skeptical, but such a revelation could change the calculus of mitigation planning around the league. I forsee additional testing coming, and even, perhaps, a controlled shutdown if things get too bad.

I don’t have any finite data to point to on that, because I’m not 100% sure what Omicron’s entry point is relative to the known entry point of Delta. So I’ll just say that it seems unlikely on its face, and that I think it’s wholly irresponsible for the CEO of a medical supply company to speculate on something that is not proven. If not immoral.

Unfortunately what we ARE no doubt seeing is parallel Viruses. Omicron infecting the vaxxed, with almost no hospitalization or death, while Delta is spiking at same time for unvaxxed. It’s one of the worst case scenarios because everyone testing positive will be out of work, many will go to hospital even if mild symptoms, adding more chaos to the mix. So while Omicron itself may not be very dangerous, the effects may be.

I can’t find the post to respond so I’ll respond to this one. Based on what you’ve seen in the data and research, what’s the possibility of omicron mutating into something both more infectious and fatal? I feel like that’s the nightmare scenario that would leave us completely ****, but from what I’ve read, it’s not in the virus’ evolutionary self interest.

Last winter the virus was much worse and the President just said this winter is going to be bad.

This is crazy that Michael Porter Jr has had covid 3 times within a 2 year period. Shows the limits of the whole natural immunity argument.

Natural immunity, like 2 shots doesn’t last forever. He got it first time early 2020 right? Then Delta, and now Omicron I’m guessing, which doesn’t care if you have natural immunity or shots.

He's not vaccinated...It could be a close contact.
