Booker snub is certainly that bad. Same stats as Steph and on by far the best team in the nba right now.

Wow that's crazy Reggie Miller didn't make ASG. Especially after the ASG he took his team to ECF and had legendary 7 game battle with Knicks. Tbh he maybe used that snub as fuel so maybe it was good thing he didn't get selected.

Some people may not realize that Reggie Miller wasn't that popular of a player in the early 90s. He wasn't a cool player to like at that time. At the time what people liked was Michael Jordan and if you were the opposite of MJ you couldn't possibly be cool. Some of the distaste for Reggie stems from his fight with Jordan and since everybody adored Michael Jordan naturally they did not like the nasty Reggie Miller. So don't be surprised when you find that he didn't make that many all star games.

That same loyalty to MJ got BJ Armstrong voted into the all-star game because those votes were for Michael and everybody was using BJ Armstrong as a proxy because that's how much we all loved and missed Michael Jordan.

You take him and put him on another team, like the wolves and he'd be back to be a poor defender. He's not able to read offenses and respond off ball. That's where dray screaming in his ear has had so much value. He's improved there, but you can't be a plus defender just playing really strong man defense.

I have zero interest in actually watching an all star game and Wiggins being involved won't change that.

I also don't think he is the best SF in the West, but do like a redemption story, and am happy for him to have been chosen after all the years of derision; he is very valuable for GSW. Garnering the votes he did from the players and the media suggests the choice isn't totally out there, and I disagree that the likes of Kawhi Leonard who is the best when healthy or George should be chosen ahead of him, his durability/availability while often taking the defensive assignment on the best player for the opposition simultaneously with reliable scoring does count for something imo. I also don't see why he should be judged on the basis of how he played for the Twolves now he is playing for GSW, and how he is for GSW is how the GSW organisation, and some GSW fans including me, judged him as likely capable of being. If he is only good on a well constructed and coached team so be it, but he is playing for such a team currently and has been judged on that basis as I said. I could argue you and others are judging him on his historical performances for a poorly constructed and coached team.

I wouldn't mind seeing a redemption arc for the Timberwolves as well btw, and they look to be somewhat on track for that after drafting Edwards and with KAT's form this year.

I mean i'm happy to see him in a role where he adds value, I don't have ill will to any players really. But he's taking a spot from better players in the front court and he's a guy who I'd have hoped to see make it as a replacement player due to covid or something this year. That's about where he is as a player. But whatever, I think it's a bad pick, and I think the fans, media and players are all overrating him...and given I think all 3 are generally dumb doesn't make this an issue.

Curry is still the vegas front runner for MVP, but Dray lost out to wiggins and no sane person thinks wiggins is better than dray this year.

And that's fair for why reggie didn't start...but coaches voted for the reserves. They failed too.

It was meant to be said tongue-in-cheek.

It's crazy he starting over Dray!

I don't know about that. Green has missed 30% of GS games this year, and will miss a lot more. Green is valuable, but Wiggins is better in a lot of ways, not least that he's there every night. He and Looney have been the most consistent Warriors so far this season.

Antonio Davis made it once over an injury. Jamaal Magloire too.

Well, I can't deny availability is insanely valuable, but Dray has been a legit superstar level guy this year to my eyes. I know advanced stats seems to see him more as a high quality allstar and not top 10 guy, but his leadership I think is what puts him at that next level. Him vs Wiggins to me is a dumb conversation because Dray has just been THAT good this year. Between his play making, QB level defensive set calling, and he's not be terrible shooting or scoring when needed.

Wiggins is still just a dumb player who's got a crazy all time great body to play with. Mad respect for his shooting this year, but when they come up with roles on some of these stats sites based on play, he's coming up listed as a stand still shooter on some, and they're not terribly wrong. He either goes to the bucket for a layup or takes open 3's. He's a good if not very good man defender and you HIDE HIM by putting him on the ball. Cause off ball the man makes stupid mistakes.

All that said I still don't hate wiggins as an allstar. I just think him starting is dumb. For me I think with covid and injuries, he likely is worthy of a replacement reserve spot and good on him making the changes needed to go from one of the worst impact players in the league to being "meh" on impact and having simi allstar box score stats.
