It’s corny because he posted about it. Don’t think Kobe would’ve been the type of guy who’d be cool with using his death as a way to market yourself but I also don’t think it’s a big deal. He’s your basketball idol and you’re playing the biggest games of your life. Being corny shouldn’t be your main concern.

Booker was doing the same.
Out of all these guys who accepted challenges by Kobe on social media, only antetokounmpo delivered.
Still, he wasn't flexing about it.
I wish someone within the team speaks to J about this, it's stupid and makes me feel very uncomfortable.

He challenged Jokic to win the MVP too

btw im on record for saying it was sweet only misguided.
was attacked for my reasonings but its such a short sighted disgreement over semantics they dont realize the premise of this out of franchise hero worship is still borderline ignorant and polaring.

bill fn russell still works out with players. larry bird is still alive, Al horford the list goes on and on to be promoting an out of franchise influence.
just kind of unprofessional actually.

still i said its sweet but good grief it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to watch 'chuckin 'chump tatum loser his teams chances because he is a selfish number 1 option.

I don’t have an issue with it other than he needs to stop messing around and join the Lakers already. I mean if he reallly wants to be like Kobe :D

I get the idea of honoring someone you idolized but he's doing way too much and got clowned for it. Just the fact that he shared the text screams Main Character syndrome. He ain't Kobe's successor.

Random but I received a text from my mom’s number months after she passed. It turns out that there had been some glitch with the cell company at the time causing hundreds of texts to be lost and then delivered way later. It was so spooky though… even the context of the message was enough to make you wonder lol.

Anyone who thinks it's corny must not be on LinkedIn.

You don't know corny till you're on LinkedIn

It's corny because he's forcing it.

I get that kobe is is favourite player growing up, but come on. You aren't kobe. You havent even shown everybody you are an elite superstar. Go prove yourself first.

It's especially weird, since lakers are the enemy of the celtics, it feels like a conflict of interest.

It's corny because he says "I got you" as if Kobe would be rooting for the Celtics.

It was cool at first seeing him paying tribute/homage to his idol, but now he’s going a bit overboard and it has been completely cringe-worthy.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Tatum sounds like he's trying to dupe people into liking him because of Kobe :x
Booker is a bit the same, but neither of them are representing Kobe at all, because they have too many quiet games where they stop shooting, whereas Kobe would keep shooting no matter what (except for when he was trying to prove a point to his coach).

Only the clowns on this board would find it corny.

Of which there is a tremendous amount.
