I think Atlanta should be a team that Boston considers if Brown declines signing a say 3 year max deal. I think ATL would have a great chance of resigning him.

Okay, I'll see myself out and not spam this thread anymore.
Good assessment:

Paul George + the Bucks 2023 1st round pick for Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams.

The Clippers get a young all star in exchange for Paul George who's good enough to the point where the Clippers can still be a playoff team post Kawhi Leonard. They would also get Robert Williams for salary Matching purposes.

The Celtics get a all star caliber who's going to be under contract for a longer period of time, who would be a great 2nd option next to Jayson Tatum. They also get a late 1st round pick as a sweetener.
Ah ah ah jaylen is much younger and currently a better player than George. No way!

Probably a reason as to why he isn't fully committed.

The majority likes Jaylen, the handful who don't mainly point out to his turnovers, tendency to overdribble and play out of the system, and the lack of significant growth in his playmaking.
Jaylen playing out of the system is one of the worst take about him.
A 27 point scorer shooting 49.2% from the floor. That's the haters narrative, JT diehard fanboys can't stand him. That's the sad truth!

It seems like a lot of the offers here are
XY gets:Brown
Boston gets: Pile of garbage
I get he'll be in his final year, but i think he still retains some more value, young yet proven stars are not available often. People might be surprised with what he fetches. Or maybe they are daydreaming about their team fleecing Boston.
I think it will be necessary to get an established player for Boston to accept, they are too close to the top to consider leaning into talent development, so offers from SAS, OKC, Pistons etc. i read in this thread will, I believe, not make the cut.

He'll be an All-NBA player for at least half of his remaining contract and a high-level starter for the entirety of it... if a team believes he puts them over the top, they'll be willing to pay his contract.

People make too much of his contact when he's still THIS good. He's not like Harden or Westbrook who's skills have clearly declined but still have super max deals. Dame is coming off the best year of his entire career with no signs of rapid decline.

Fair enough. Small guards are rarely All-NBA material at age 35, but we can go with the assumption Damian Lillard will age gracefully a la Stephen Curry or a (when he's healthy) Chris Paul. We can start here:

Portland gets: Jaylen Brown, Danilo Gallinari and a 2025 first-round pick

Boston gets: Damian Lillard and Nassir Little

The deal is based on Brown agreeing to a long-term deal with Portland.

It's usually hard for teams to get value back for their star players. In this case I'll use Chicago my favorite team to make a offer here. This is only a example as I couldn't see how Chicago or Boston would make a deal together. The main player Boston most likely would want in return would be Lavine. Chicago of course would say no as they would want to pair Lavine with Brown. So the next step would be what can Chicago offer. Would probably have to then center around a deal of Vucevic and Derozan and about 3 1sts most likely. Not a horrible deal for Boston tslent wise, but not a deal that really knocks their socks off either. Now if Brown or his agent start making major noise, then I see his value dropping some. For as long as it stays the way it does now, Boston should be able to get value back for him, or even better resolve the situation and try to keep him.

Also, Brown is not a credible contender for the all-defensive team. By way of contrast, Smart and Timelord are recent selections, Horford is a not-so-recent selection, White and Tatum are widely regarded as excellent defenders, and Grant Williams is claimed by Stan van Gundy to be one of the best defenders in the league. (Admittedly, that latter view is probably held mainly by SvG, Grant, and Grant's agent.)

I think it balances the roster for both teams, allows Boston to trade him if he actually wants out for someone they can continue to compete with as well because he's All NBA in his own right. Raps get a self creating big guard that can score on 3 levels and put pressure on the rim. He's the same age as OG and can easily play next to Scottie and OG for the foreseeable future. Also think he would Toronto as a city itself

That's somewhat of a fair trade. What bothers me is how Brown outplayed Siakam a few years back when we played you guys. Outside of that, I like Siakam. Would moore than likely ask for 1 pick due to the fact Jaylen is younger and has proven more in the league(don't get me wrong Siakam has, too, but Jaylen has done it on the bigger stage).

Yeah I see that. A protected future first (top 6-8 protected)? Maybe even take Pritchard off your hands and add another asset. I think I remember him wanting a bigger role and we have 1 good pg on the roster.

Siakam is def better than his bubble days but I know C fans probably don't think highly of Pascal since that Bubble series where he got locked up.

Middleton. Two dudes who might leave in a year. Younger guy who seems like he's setting the stage to **** off for older guy who might start falling off but also is a Celtics killer so they at least won't have to see him anymore.

basketball wise, the fits there.... the Jazz trading for jaylen brown would go miraculously poorly for them as an org though.

Ummm, why? Clarkson, Abaji and plenty 1st round picks could get it done.

Why is boston considering this? They are a title contender, why do they want picks at this point?

Inspiring is not a great problem if a player comes in assures to sign with his new team.

Willing to trade this year's pick in the draft [if it drops to #4], plus Jaden Ivey, plus Bojan Bojanavic.

Could be talked into adding anywhere from 1-2 more firsts depending on Cade's status. If Cade is good to go, I could part with 1 more pick. I'm not sure which we can trade, would have to look up what we have and what protections could prevent trading.

In total [if our lotto luck sucks and it drops to 4] and Cade is healthy and presumed ready for camp:

2023 #4 pick
2024 Swap
2025 Top-5 protected
Jaden Ivey
Bojan Bojanavic

Someting along those lines. Tho I'd rather we just hold onto a top 3 pick and draft Brandon Miller worst case. I'm already talking myself out of including Ivey. It really just depends on what happens with our pick this year. If we get Scoot or Wemby, I'd be happy to trade Ivey as he's gonna lose touches and value really quick.

[This assumes he wants to be here and will sign an extension or whatever he's eligible for.]

That's a horrible trade for Detroit... not because Brown isn't a great player, but because Brown is a FA a year later and there are no guarantees he will resign.

That said, Detroit can't trade future picks they still owe one from the Bey trade with Houston.

If the Celtics could get Mikal Bridges for him they should run with it. Win now piece but also a guy who's locked into 3 more years at a team friendly contract.... and he's a likely all-star next year as well IMO.

They wont and Shai/Brown combo is pretty decent. Brown is averaging 26 a game this year.

What would be the point of it unless he expresses a desire to play for OKC?

It would be an act of desperation to mortgage your future for a guy that is determined to hit free agency. There is too much uncertainty involved with acquiring him via trade and it might be best for all parties to wait until that happens.
