You have to offer extensions to both JB's otherwise you risk losing them next summer for nothing. Retain Grant Williams and Payton Pritchard as well. The trade chips are Smart, White, and Brogdon worth $60M.

Maybe they go all-in for Lillard. Offer Brogdon + White + Smart + Rob Williams + 2 FRPs for Lillard + Nurk.

Alternatively on a smaller scale they could target Trae, Beal, Hield, Dinwiddie, Lavert,

Brown may be the guy to trade. No idea if it will happen. No idea what happened to him in this round. I feel as if his woke **** is affecting the team and I wouldn't mind Kyrie Jr gone.
Good assessment:

Durant/Paul/Embiid would be an interesting trio if healthy(big IF), but I agree with you.

Devin Brooker isn't getting traded, unless he requests a trade. Also I think the 76ers may need more in terms of assets outside of Jaylen Brown/ De'Andre Ayton and the Celtics picks that's are to be terrible picks. Brown has proven to be inconsistent in these playoffs.

They should look to trade Brown if they could get a good return.

Donovan Mitchell for Jaylen Brown makes sense after Brown signs his max extension. The C's could use a lead guard and Cleveland could use a talented wing.

Issue with Brown and Tatum is that they just have too much overlapping on the strength they are bringing, one of them must go , if i can make the call, it would definitely be Jaylen Brown who needs to go.

If that's the route Boston is going I'd likely prefer a deal around Garland for Brown. Maybe Cleveland wouldn't but Brown and Mitch are too similar in the grand scheme.

Tatum no. Brown yes. But, it has to be with an eye in the immediate.

To Portland for Damian Lillard or to Portland for No. 3 pick?
To Minnesota for KAT?

Any other stars who can shake loose?

The can trade Smart and Brown and bring in a star guard who complements Tatum better.

If you were going to do that, do it this off-season.

that's just one half of the picture, the on court stuff
the other half is asset management

if you don't give Brown the supermax he will feel "disrescpected" and all that bs. even if u do give it to him, he might feel that way and plenty of reports that he already does

it's better to trade him now and get ample return than having him walk, even if it means having a weaker team next season.

i'm saying "even if" because I don't think that should be the case as a bidding war for Brown, early into the offseason, should fetch them a nice haul and if there isn't a direct trade that makes sense - you can always involve a 3rd team that can supply the star you are after

so the GM's job is to balance between those two halves, it's not as simple as "who are u gonna trade him for"
the FO needs to look at the risks and potential rewards of each possible move with an outlook for a few years ahead, at the very least.

nah. Give Jaylen his contract this summer and see how next year goes. Brown may be overpaid at 50mill/year, but i still think he'll hold more value on that contract than he would as a pending FA.

If there's one player to help you get over the hump in the Playoffs, it's Karl Anthony Towns!
