This was a pretty ridiculous situation.

The Lakers were down by 2, the Grizzlies had the ball and there was less than a second difference between the shot clock and the game clock. The Grizzlies could have essentially run the clock out to win the game.
Kobe is telling Lin over and over again to foul Conley so the Lakers could get the ball back. How could none of the Lakers except Kobe know the situation? Was Byron even telling them to foul? To try to trap Conley to force a turnover? Everybody except Kobe was treating it like it was just another defensive possession.

Lin was looking at Byron Scott the whole time. Watching it live, you can clearly see that Scott is telling Lin not to foul.

Scott says in his press conference after the game that he was telling Lin to wait to foul Conley. It's on Scott, not Lin.

But of course Kirby has to show up his teammates on the court.
