That has to be a rookie record.

That's incredible. How has he been scoring his points? Has it been mostly iso, pick and roll, or has he been getting it off of putbacks? From what I've seen of the Suns this season, his teammates don't pass him the ****ing ball, so it would be cool to see that they're making a concerted effort to get him the ball.

Tons of putbacks where he just flies in for the offensive board or is right there for them...all sorts of ways..really impressive.

Booker went out for the quarter so they were really looking for Ayton. Offensive rebounds/putbacks, but also some pick and rolls and hook shots, 17 foot jumpers.

33 points
14 rebounds
1 assist
4 steals

80% shooting.

Is this a 35 game rookie or one of the best centres in the league in their prime?

Mikal Bridges with 17/2/3/2/1 on 5/8 from 3 whilst leading the league in wing defense.

Ayton and Booker will be interesting going into the future.

A question to Suns fans - do you think you can build a contender around these two, say, in about 3-4 years time?

ayton did all he could tonight to keep us from getting blown the hell out. murray simply went off, can't do much about that.

we need a starting quality PG that isn't Booker playing out of position. people forget we are starting 3 rookies, because Ayton and Bridges aren't playing like them.

How was his defense? 4 defensive boards and 0 blocks while giving up 122 points isn't ideal from a rim protection POV.

his 4 steals suggests he is playing better help d. and what can you do about 18 threes made and Murray going for 47?

Denver is first place and the Suns are last in the league. that still means something.

I didn't watch the game...just asking. Often open threes are a result of poor interior defense.

open 3s are also a result of good ball movement, which is obviously Denver's strength. they're a good team.

if you want some illustration of Ayton's improving d, check out the Orlando game (esp OT), which is an encouraging sign.

he just needs to keep putting it together long-term.

anyway, 24 points in a quarter vs a top team is a big deal no matter who you are.

Yes, his scoring efficiency is very, very impressive. I wonder if he'll add the 3 point shot to his repetoire? He shot some in college but hasn't attempted any this year.

He had a very impressive game. Carried the Suns especially during the 1st half. Threes were mostly from Murray isos so I wouldn't attribute that to poor interior D.

i doubt they will have him shoot 3s this year, but maybe next season. for now we simply needs to just give him the ball more. he can't contend for roty with just 10-13 shots a game.

some footage from his 2nd quarter

Start of the 3rd, his teammates started ignoring him again.I think they froze him and threw off his rhythm.Self sabotage.

He only got 2 FGA's in the 3rd Q.Coach benched him early in the quarter.Could've easily scored 40 if they kept him engaged

we need to get him the ball more period. we already see he's more comfortable closing games now (started 4th qtr at -7 but ended the game at 0).

3pt range maybe in his 3rd season... he's still a student at this point hence why he looks like a true franchise big

Yeah, I just watched it...it seemed like a few more were putbacks, but maybe I was just surprised with some of the great putbacks so they stood out more in my mind.
