Unless you count Tatum and Brown SG, there hasn't been a SG with can score and be a positive defender. We've practically gone a whole generation without star two way shooting guards.

There have been a lot of elite scoring (Mitchell), elite shooting (Booker), elite offense (Harden) without much D.

Unless hes really developed big time as a defender already im not sure about trying to compare him to two way star players. Hes gonna be a really good player but he looked literally awful defensively when i seen him earlier.

He’s developed big time. He’s the rookie leader in iso defense minimum 60 games.

His only issue right now is muscle, an easy fix. He’s already put on muscle during the season.

Even as a big believer in Green, his defense is still really bad. All advanced metrics back that up. -3.1 defensive Raptor and -2.4 defensive EPM is really bad but he has improved and is not as bad as he was in 2021. He still has a long way to go on the defensive end.

Just fyi, none of them measures defense independent of team performance. In addition, aggregate level metrics like Raptor, EPM, DBPM do not really measure defense in any way, rather they measure statistics correlated with defense (Steal, Reb, Blk).

Plus no one is saying Green is an elite defender. He is however showing glimpse of elite defense which is something you don't see from rookie two guards, almost never ever.

Cade was flat out dominant in the 2nd half against the Nets. Trading buckets with Durant. That was impressive to watch.

34 points
6 assists
2 steals

Rookie of the month 100% guaranteed for Cade, he's finishing the year strong. I can't wait to see how good he will be next season, hopefully with a more competent team around him.

I think Cade had 29 second half points. He scored the Pistons final 17 points of the game against a slew of double teams.

If only he had guys who can knock down shots more consistently, the assist totals would be a lot higher.
One little gripe is that his rebounding dried up recently for some odd reason but everything else has been good.

Cade numbers for the month of March

22.5 PPG
7.1 APG
6.1 RPG
47% FG
33.8% 3FG

Haters gonna hate, the guy has been good, all-star level good with plenty of room to improve.

Oof. That was a serious 4th quarter.

(and we still lost… which is good)

Incredible scoring performance from Cade.

His scoring is much more advanced than I had given him credit for.

His passing, in my opinion, still remains overrated.

Cade is playing much much much better than my pre-draft assessment. In a re-draft, I wouldn't feel horrible taking him #1 though Mobley is still #1 for me and any play from any player rest of the season won't change that.

It's kind of crazy that I can actually imagine all 4 the top 4 picks turn into Superstars.
