Re: March Madness Discussion and prospect watch
The good thing about Bama winning is that against UConn they won't try to slow the game down. It will be an up and down affair. It will probably be another beatdown, but it will at least be entertaining like their games in the SEC this season.
Props to Nate Oats for taking them to their first Final Four. I had them losing to Grand Canyon, but they won that game with defense.

Glad Bama won. Clemson had a great year but a boring team to watch. UConn Bama will be fun
Praying for Burrow

Re: March Madness Discussion and prospect watch
I am not sure if Tennessee can beat Purdue. Aidoo and Awaka are really going to have to hold their own inside. Can Knecht dominate the game? Heide and Colvin have been sneaky good players/athletes for the Boilermakers.
NC State tends to do NC State things against Duke (ACC tournament win notwithstanding). I expect Duke to win.

I’m kind of getting Virginia vibes from this years Purdue team…

Edey is just such a foul merchant, you never know. If he wasn't on the roster (or just say a Kofi Cockburn), I wouldn't like them at all.

Tennessee is the best defensive team left in the tournament. If they get through them yeah they deserve to take a crack at UConn. We know what Edey will give. Their guards need to overperform and outperform UConn's. I don't know if Purdue's coaching is on par with Hurley. But anything can happen in March! Just get there!

Rick Barnes worries me and I never trust him come tourney time. Will he keep Vescovi out? Especially considering he has been dealing with flu?

Yeah lol That's the thing with Rick Barnes' teams. Ya never know what you're gonna get! If they play their usual game, they will be tough on Purdue. If they choke, and they CAN choke like in SEC tournament Purdue will get that crack.

Bama will get beat but they won't stop shooting and keep it fast paced. Have to wait a week for this.

I gotta admit... i kinda wanna see 2 giants battle it out underneath...
In the NBA we never get to see a proper Tacko vs Boban matchup so maybe this time..

Re: March Madness Discussion and prospect watch
Felt bad for Clemson. That dude they had was a super solid player, PJ Hall, but once the game hit 10 minutes I felt like his energy became to frantic, and he started to mess up way too much with his fouls and shots. Feel bad because he legit looked like he would die on the court for that win, but just couldn't get out of his own way.
That 3pnt barrage by the Bama pointguard was absolutely the reason I love March
Guy knew he had the holy spirit in him after the first one went in and just went unconscious.
I don't see anyone beating UConn right now. It could happen. Last night before the UConn/ILL game their coach said something like "We're going to keep taking it inside, even if they end up for 100 blocked shots we're still going inside." They stuck to a gameplan all game even when it clearly was working in UConns favor. I dont think Clingan had a great game by his standards, I literally think ILL was just being way to arrogant in the 2nd half when UConn was clearly feasting.
This point is important because it shows how maleable this UConn team is compared to most. They don't have a gameplan, they take what you give them and use that to win. They constantly mix it up, utilyzing all 3 levels to score, and no ones been able to figure it out for more than a half of basketball.
UConns guards are also playing well above their heads right now. What stands out to me is that all of them have clean clean handles. Even Spencer has some wiggle to his game that you really wouldn't expect. Diara obviously showed how slithery he could be last night too, and that's not even getting into New and Castle.
Also, Hurley's offensive sets are probably getting stolen from every NBA team right now. Some of the actions I saw last night would make someone like Spo or Stevens blush. They run a legit NBA offense and it's crazy to watch. You have to hope they just miss key shots when it matters

The refs in college suck, they’re so inconsistent with what they do call and what they don’t call, and I never have any issue with that being called out.
So I’m all for SVG calling that aspect of. The thing I get annoyed with is him wanting the game to be called like the NBA. No thank you on that. I much prefer the physical play and the refs not bending over backwards for the offense on every call.
It’s clear that he’s so used to any contact or exaggerated movement by an offensive player being called a foul on he defense, it’s like he can’t comprehend what he’s watching haha.
