AUS trying to hard double Doncic didn't work this time. Entertaining game.

So Australia miss the quarter finals and play Dyson Daniels for 38 minutes against Georgia?

Victor Liz... not getting back on defense in crunch time is pretty inexcusable. If Domincan loses this one it's going to be hard to forget that possession.

Quality win by Slovenia. Outmatched Aussies in rebounds, team play, crisp sets, shooting.

Aussies do advance to the Olympics but it's a wake-up call as to with whom top to bottom. Felt like they ran out of steam once their bread and butter transition push was taken out as a factor.

That shot chart for Slovenia must make Darryl Morey so hard, I imagine it’s all dunks layups and 3s.

The thing is it isn’t pitiful.

They have just been coached to defer to Mills and are too scared to overstep.

We’ve seen what Daniels can do with some flashes in his rookie year and a dominant summer league.

Green has shown he has some skill, likewise White. They just needed a full run without Mills and Ingles.

Giddey needs to improve his shot but he showed some potential as a scorer with some strong drives.

Landale is better than anything up front the team had here.

And he is 30 something but Brock Motum needs to take Ingles spot in Paris. Guy can shoot the lights out and does everything solidly.

Beyond that there is Proctor who could be what most people hoped Exum was going to be going 5 in the draft. Dyson’s younger brother Dash is 16 and seems to be more naturally offensively orientated than his big bro.

7’3 teenager Rocco Zikarsky has a chance.

Lots to look forward to.

They need a coach. I’d reach out to someone like Jeff Van Gundy honestly.

Slovenia did a bunch of 'small' things better, most notably rebounding and spacing. Also made sure the Boomers offence had to play in the half court.

Totally deserved the win.

Australia need a quality big (actually, 2, but I'm hoping Lansdale can be 1) and more shooting/spacing.
Which are both issues unlikely to be solved by the Olympics to tell the truth.

Unsportsmanlike like foul by Caboclo (nothing dirty) leads to quick 4 point possession for Canada

I like that FIBA mics up the refs, interesting to hear them respond to complaints by the players

That's a big loss for Olympic qualifiers, gives Canada a better chance

Refs have been good. And consistent.

Nba is a joke.

Ball clearly off tomic right in front of ref. Wrong call, then gives ingles a tech for complaining about it even though the ref saw the replay of his mistake. Slo player did a legal step through to beat the shot clock, called for travelling. Lukas 4th foul. Luka committing an obvious charge that was called a block. Missing of a hook on a baseline drive that was again obvious. Bruno getting fouls like crazy on the glass as we speak, Canada is holding his shorts to stop him.

They consistently suck on a game that is easier to ref.

cupcakesnake wrote:Surprised Caboclo fell out of the league. He has big weaknesses still (ball handling, man defense), but his combination of defensive length and shooting are obviously useful.

He looked good to go once he arrived in Memphis in 2019 but then just didn't keep getting rostered. Even against all of Canada's NBA talent, he stands out as an athlete.

He's not very smart and is super inconsistent, but he is talented and phisically gifted.

Today he called JJJ ‘Williams’. Twice!

How does someone so incompetent get paid to do this job?

That guy is terrible. Can't stand him. I don't get it either.

53-24 second half :D Lithuania en fuego.
With a complete mess in another group, no idea if it is worth even trying versus USA
