Oh god, it would be beyond hilarious if Melo was traded and then didn't sign, I don't think the franchise could ever recover from that

The way I read it is that Kroenke is the one that has held up this deal from the start, he is insisting on getting exactly what and who he wants, or he will not do the deal.

Yeah...I'm betting if the Nets trade for him without his consent, Prokhorov just offers Melo 50 million under the table.

Which, as a Nets fan, I'm 100% okay with.

I just hope that then we do the same thing for CP3

melo wouldn't do that though, since there's nothing in it for him.

he'd have to test the new CBA anyway if he does that, and he could just tell the nets no upfront and finish his year in denver. no point in lying about it just to screw them over.

If they want to get it done I think they need to have it done by Monday, most teams have next Tuesday off and they need that day off to have everyone join there new team and take there physicals. Nets need it the most because they're trading 8 players so when the trade happens they wouldn't be able to have the required 8 men active. The 19th is also Russian Culture night so Prokhorov will bee in the US for that.

This sounds like a disaster. Melo is not a guy you want to really overpay for, unless you're already a good team.

Billups makes little sense. I think the biggest problem is that neither three of these guys are gonna go to NJ with a fierce desire to win. Melo is gonna feel bought out, Billups and Rip have their rings and are on decline...going to play for drill sargent Avery. Sounds like your typical underachieving team (not as bad as Baron to Clippers but something like that).

What is Melo thinking about? I don't get it too. He would be paired with Kris Humpries, Jordan Farmar, Travis Outlaw and Brook Lopez :lol:
