Fact is, it was a dirty, vicious blow to the head that put the guy out he game and possibly even for a couple of games. If Harden misses 2 games or so how can you guys even consider a 2 game suspension? That's ridiculous, Artest needs to be gone for at least the first couple of rounds and hopefully he's done for the season.
Concussions are serious, it wasn't a flag 2 where the guy gets back up, shoots his free throws and the game continues.
You have to suffer the consequences of your actions, doesn't matter if he didn't intend for it to happen that way, but it did. It's a lot more serious than most of you guys think it is.

So um since Wade made no play on the basketball when he broke Kobe's nose and gave him a concussion, just hit him in the face and above the shoulders like the rules say, should he have been suspended or fined?

If you can't dissect the difference in those 2 plays then I can't help you.

The wade play was accident at a all star game he didn't mean to do that even the league knows that too this thing was a different thing artest knew what he was doing he should be gone for the whole entire playoffs.

It's simply gamesmanship. The guy is feeling pretty good about himself and riding an emotional high. Piss him off a bit and maybe draw a technical or at least throw him off a bit. I didn't say Harden was gloating, but it's clear that he meant to get into MWP's way, or at least bump him a bit.

As someone else said earlier, guys like Garnett do it all the time. An opponent dunks on them and gets the and1, and you can be sure Garnett is following him out of bounds to talk smack and block his way.

As I said, so many guys do it.

Clearly you misinterpreted me.

artest should be in jail. he could have seriously damaged harden's life.

Im not sure how many of u fans care, but this is exactly why people hate the nba. its bc they allow POS like artest to play after numerous of offenses including starting a riot.

hey nba, u want respect? BAN HIM. There is NO place for this in basketball, sports, or in life.

It looks really bad in slow motion but it happens alot. The sledging, the trash talking, the physical one upsman ship, especially thats engaged in by the games more 'physical' players is, quite frankly, disgusting.

Don't be surprised if Artest's suspension is relatively mild. In Stern's mind, the Detroit riots were 8 years ago. Despite 1 or 2 isolated incidents, Artest has been a model player in the league. If previous history is to be reassesed, then so will rehabilitation.
Don't be a jerk.

Again, it makes no sense. Like you said, Artest was the one riding an emotional high. He had reason to gloat and boast about his dunk. That's not how gamesmanship works. You don't gloat about your team getting dunked on. Your theory doesn't make sense, and it is far more likely it was one of many countless times that players bump into each other because one guy is running back and the other is trying to run to the ball to get the inbounds pass. In any event, I wouldn't want to have to rely on Artest now. He'll almost certainly be gone for quite a long time.

They should definitely ban that POS low-life scum-bag. Like they should have with those other POS Kareem, Mchale, Parish, Chris Childs,... i don't all those dudes low-life POS.

Is your argument purely based upon the fact that the SG and one of the primary ball handlers is getting in position to take an inbound pass? Is that seriously your argument? I thought you were stupid, but now I actually think you have some sort of disability.

How was he getting in too position when the other two ball handling wings were already in position and he walked away from a clear pass with no presure that could be made with Ron looking the other way? He walked away from a clear as hell pass to walk behind and under Ron to swing momentum. It was the same thing Harden has pulled versus Dallas, but he just got knocked the **** out by world peace  over winning a Floppy Award like with zdallas this very year, which he laughed about btw

Crazy game but seriously i knew before logging into Realgm tonight that this would steal the story of the game instead of the fact that the Lakers played hero ball and came back from 18 points to win in double OT
