Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Waiters is the frickin man.
I'm excited for the Cavs. They deserve a solid team, now they've got it (at least in the future). That guy can ball. Him and Irving will be really exciting in a year or two.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I liked what I saw from TT last season with his offensive rebounding and shotblocking. He also showed an okay touch around the rim and the makings of a jumper.
Add to that his great wingspan and athleticism and it's hard not to see him as a decent starting 4 someday.
I think his height was a bit of an issue for him in terms of finishing, and he's still pretty damn raw all-around, but I think he'll do alright if he works.
I haven't watched him much but his stats so far are underwhelming.

yes, it was a travel. He took a little bunny hop before he dunked. However JVal should be able to destroy a mediocre def. player like Kaman in the future without traveling. A lot of centers get away with moving their pivot feet or little bunny hops. But if they don't call it, it's not a violation.

Beal with another good game. Starting to be more assertive. Should be very solid whenever Wall gets back.

Nice game by him. I love when people say he has "average athleticism" and that he is "slow" . He was running the floor like a deer today , had a nice dunk, 2 chasedown block attempts, and a coast to coast layup after a defensive rebound that displayed his underrated athleticism.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Someone please tell me why Andre Drummond wasn't number 1 or 2 picked? The guy is oozing potential, and I'd nearly say he has a higher ceiling then Anthony Davis..

25 / 11 / 5 blocks / 2 steals / 2 assists for Davis tonight
Davis and Drummond both looking really strong to start... Drummond needs more PT and prove that he can do that consistently

Just saw this now and Thomas Robinson is an idiot. I was rooting for him considering his rough background (raising his sister, etc) but this was just too butch league:

Drummond got more than 10 minutes of playing time! 22 points in 8/10 shooting (6/9 at the line), 8 rebounds, 1 block, one steal in 22 minutes.
In a related note, Lawrence Frank is still inexplicably employed. Drummond getting less than 20 minutes a game is questionable. In the game preceding this, he played only 5. That's coaching dereliction of duty.

Drummond 22pts, 8reb, 1blk, 1stl on 8-10 FG. After shooting 28% FT in college last year he is shooting 57% in the NBA.

Davis with 23/11/5 blks 2ast 2 stls
Davis was having a quiet game until he got into it with BJ Mullens. He absolutely torched Mullens after that. Mullens ended up 2-9 with 5 points.

Davis is special. I didn't think he would be this good offensively so early.

In actuality I think Drummond had 3 blocks with two being ruled as fouls for Ibaka.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I'm a Bobcats fan and Anthony Davis is an absolute beast inside, he definitely killed us but being guarded by Byron Mullens and Tyrus Thomas will allow you to do that, this guy is somthing special though imo.
Austin Rivers sucks, that is not flaming but the absolute truth.
He threw a cheap elbow too. lol.
EDIT:
MKG had 12/6/2stls/3blks on 5-9 fg, 1-1 from 3.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Ideally Rivers would be coming off the bench given the green light to just chuck shots. Because Eric Gordon is being Eric Gordon, Rivers is forced to start when he's not ready.
The 2nd best rookie on the Hornets right now is actually Darius Miller. He's played really well so far.
