Nice to see you acknowledge Embiid's defense - and how it CLEARLY differentiates him from Jokic in this discussion.

(it would have been nice for you to respond DIRECTLY to my post, but I expect that from Jokic fanboys)

What? Easy keyboard Warrior I was responding to him, did not even see your post.

Oh, no? It was from the GDT last night. Here's a recap:

bebop:

Wait - Embiid only had 5 assists, right?

(to go along with 50 points, 17 rebounds, and SIX stocks - 4 blocks and 2 steals)

You're welcome.

BoatsNZones:

Embiid had his career high 50 on 26 Field Goal attempts and 17 Free Throw attempts. Jokic just matched his 50 on 25 Field Goal Attempts and ZERO Free Throw Attempts (hint: ALL those FT attempts become offensive opportunities for the rest of the Nuggets). Somehow, on the best night offensively of Embiid's career, Jokic makes a mockery of it. 10 assists + 4 steals for Jokic as well. An absolute monster.

bebop:

I am not even sure what you are talking about. I was making a comment about TONIGHT'S game. Did Jokic have FIFTY tonight?

Doc Rivers clinched coaching the East tonight, because the Sixers ARE THE NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE CONFERENCE.

If the season ended tonight, the Nuggets are PLAYING A PLAY IN GAME just to make the big-boy playoffs.

I don't give a f about WOW THE JOKER IS A TRANSFORMATIONAL BIG YO!!!!! How valuable is the guy if his team can't stop a stiff breeze on D most nights - huh? Embiid is the best player on the #1 team in the East - putting up huge numbers on offense and playing at an All-Defense level.

When I say, "ummm...defense?", all the Jokic fanboys go scurrying for the cracks in the floorboard....and you know it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I don't know about you, but I pay attention to the responses I get to my posts. Either 1) you don't pay attention to the responses you get to your posts or 2) you just choose to ignore the ones you don't want to respond to. Which is it?

It's cool, though. You aren't the first Jokic fanboy to disappear when the word "defense" is mentioned.

I’m no Jokic fanboy nor a Nuggets fan. But while we’re at it IN favor of Jokic is that he actually battles through all these games. Embiid is glass and knows this about himself. Hence missing ~25% of the season thus far. Not an MVP trait.

Hell of a lot easier when to put up numbers in this league when you’re always rested, and Jokic still out performers him offensively (and overall in nearly all advanced stats). Those are the facts.

Hope the Nuggets defense improves enough to stay out of a play-in game. Never know what can happen there...or actually, we do know what can happen there - as when the Nuggets lost the last game of the season a couple of years ago to the T-Wolves to miss out on the playoffs.

Lol I’m good junior. Let’s hope you and Embiid don’t go home crying again this season.

I do value a player actually... playing the season. Call me crazy.

Jokic has proven dominant in the playoffs by the way. Embiid? Glass and inconsistent. Do you need me to bore out the numbers? Do you need me to bore out the numbers why Jokic has been better than Embiid this year? The Nuggets are better and have performed better than the Sixers by the way, they just happen to play in the real conference. They have a FAR better SRS than the Sixers. Which, hint, is much more telling of post season success. I’d like to guide you along further but frankly would rather you never quote me again. You are annoying af and clueless af.

(am I being annoying enough for you)

Through MULTIPLE posts you CONTINUE to ignore what Embiid does on the defensive end.

Who is clueless here?

Jokic plays D and hilariously has a WAY higher D BPM than Embiid (I do not think he is a better defender fwiw, but this stat does say so). Offensively it's not a question. Jokic murders Embiid. You're talking about a 27+ PPG scorer on 50/40/90+ who is one of the best playmakers in the game, period (Embiid has a negative assist/TO ratio. He is a cancer of a playmaker). Better rebounder is negligible at best and Jokic leads him in offensive reb% considerably, which is the more paramount stat for boards.

Bear in mind this is all coming off of the best game of Embiid's career and a relatively quiet ho-hum triple-double from Jokic. Regression to the mean is incoming.

Keep ignoring that Embiid has missed/rested 25% of the season while Jokic battles quite literally every night (games taken off due to being made of glass = zero). Keep ignoring that Jokic has Embiid smashed on WS/BPM/VORP (all of which he leads the league in), and keep ignoring that the Sixers are a fake conference leader in an absolute joke of a conference (2 SRS to 4 SRS respectively.
The Suns are easily better than the Sixers). The Nuggets are the better team, and Jokic is the better player. Period. Night kid.

The numbers were never there, but now LeBron's MVP push doesn't really have much of a narrative going for it anymore, not with the team falling apart without AD.

Bron’s MVP run has officially ended. Told everyone that AD was the MVP of the Lakers, now there’s no disputing it.

Like I said earlier, these upcoming games are extremely important for the Lakers and if they continue to lose with the loss of AD, then Lebron's MVP chances go right along with them.

Time to end this Lebron for MVP narrative. He never had the numbers now it’s clearly showing. AD anchored that elite defense and that’s the key to the team.

You need two stars or at least another top 20 player these days to win games.

Who’s Lakers third best player? No where near the top 40-50 ranked nba player. Lakers gonna to lose games without AD. The second and 6th seeds separated by only 2 games in the loss column. Lakers could be a 4/5 seed by the time AD comes band which will hurt lebron case.

We all know lebron is still the best player in the world. He’s been the best player in the world since 2008 in my opinion.

Who knows. If Jokic lingers in the 5-7 seed slot. Embiid misses too many games. Lebron not in the top 2 seed in the west. It will be interesting who will win the mvp. If Giannis gets bucks to top seed. He could be mvp for 3rd straight year but bucks aren’t as good this season.

Lebron still well on pace for the best season by a 36 year old that got screwed out of an mvp 10 years ago award

I'd still have LeBron as MVP but it's close after Embiids big game. Probably neck and neck now.

It's just slightly less fixed than the WWE. These jokers honestly think these storylines and narratives are more important than the steadily declining quality of play on the court which is why the sport is declining. They've made it into a soap opera at this point.

WOJ was yesterday on ESPN show talking about this. He said that Lakers send out a memo to all teams to let Bron get to the rim anytime he wants and Lakers also expect teams to play lesser defense against them. We'll see if rest of the NBA agrees with them.

Link?

Personally I absolutely smashed the Nuggets in-play and 2nd half bet last night knowing AD was out. After so many OT games and in a spot they had a great shot to lose regardless, it was a sports bettors dream. I will continue to fade the AD-less Lakers. They’re not remotely close to a contender without him.

Extrapolate MVP narrative with that as necessary.

From last week. The only thing that can out-perform bitcoin is betting against the Lakers when Lebron is without AD.

And no, of course Lebron is not the MVP. But let's keep that hush hush while we print money.

The real lakers mvp is davis. Look how trash they look. Don’t give me beating the Okc, Memphis and the Thunder of the world. Without AD they are atrocious. They were down by 23 points to the Nets at one stage without KD. Lost to a middle of the pack Heat team.

Let’s not forget Le steroids missed the playoffs without AD.

Few dramatic responses to Lakers losing two games. Lebrons lost his lead but he’s still at the top end of the standings.

Definitely Joel for now. Dude needs to stay on the court though.

Their defense has been fine without Ad. Its the offense that has suffered much more without him if anything. They have an elite defensive coach, system and plenty of good defenders across multiple systems. Its obviously a much better defense with Ad but theyre not struggling to defend without him as much as they in scoring specially with the 3pt drought ATM

And Schroeder has missed the last 2 games too.......Thats 2 of their 3 best on ball defenders and scorers. Those 2 and Bron are the only ones who can break down a defense with their dribble or offball games besides Kuzma i guess and Kuz isnt the same scorer he used to be since hes focused on a more reduced role as a rebounding wing defender that hits spot up 3s and occassionally drives

Embiid might have the lead now but everyone knows hes gonna end up playing like 58/72 games at most. He wont be in the running by the end like Bron is every season and he might not even finish top 5
