Man you must loathe your only team title then. Barely scraped by an unhealthy Sixers team. Then needed KD to go down to beat a wounded Warriors. Your Title is a fake, just put an * on it, cause it clearly was a fluke.
You could come up with a list of reasons why every title is like that but you won't do that, you're going to just do it to try and take down the Raptors title. It shows how little you know about basketball because this happens so often. EVERY single title has some form of impact because of injuries along the way. It might be regular season giving a team a better playoff position, could be round 1 2 or 3, ect. You lost in 7 get over it, it was 2019 and you have a great team now so why cry?
For once Sisqo try reading the post I'm responding to. YOUR raptors fan dismissed this Sixers teams for reasons "a, b, c" meanwhile he's got a banner for the Raptors title. All I did was use his own criteria to show that the title he cherishes meets "a, b, c" and so by his standards he must hate his own team's title. I NEVER said all Raptors fans should feel that way, I specifically limited it to JUST this poster because of his personal criteria.
I frankly have no issue with Raptors title, it sucked it came at the expense of the Sixers and one of the most insane bounces I've seen in a decade, but Raps earned it. You beat who you is in front of you, you can't control that side of it. This comes from experience as a lot of folks back in 2008 argued the Phil's title wasn't credible b/c they avoided the Yanks and only had to beat the Rays.
I think we're talking about two different things here. One thing is the level of satisfaction of appreciating a team's achievements against hobbled opponents, and another is the need for vindication following a defeat.
I offered my opinion as to why I won't be cheering for the 76ers in the 2nd round: I dislike several of their personae and there is absolutely nothing they have to vindicate for us if we lose to them.
For instance, I hoped that the 2019-20 Celtics would win the title because their ultimate triumph would vindicate everything about our loss to them. As a team that thrashed the Raptors multiple times that season (in what stands as our franchise's best ever regular season) they defeated us in the playoffs by deploying absolute genius defense and cleverly adjusted offense. We had a title to defend and I was hoping that we'd be dethroned only by the worthiest of opponents.
None of that currently applies. The fact we had critical injuries in this series shouldn't diminish the joy of 76ers fans. It simply diminishes my need to see the 76ers team succeed any further, and my belief that they can.
