Man Garland is having one rough start to his career. Whenever I turn into a Cavs game, he either is invisible out there or making bad plays.

Garland did not deserve to be top ten pick same with reddish.

They did nothing in college or in here.

growing pains as a PG going from college to the league. Especially one without outstanding physical gifts, those take even more time to find themselves within the flow of NBA game speed. Also not fully having the keys will prolong the clock on that development I feel. Not to say he isn't given chances to make mistakes and learn but it's still different energy in the thought process when you know there's someone behind you compared to you being the only choice.

26 points on 23 shots and a -9. Was 1-5 on 3s in second half. Also three turnovers to just three assists.

Another tough night for Hunter but he kept plugging along and ended up with 14 points after a dismal start. 15 points and only 3 boards on horrible efficiency but 6 steals. Hopefully he gets a fire lit under his butt.

The Hawks have the Clippers and Lakers on a back to back Saturday and Sunday and he needs to step up. Watch and see, this will be the one game for a whole month and a half the Clippers let Leonard and George play in the same game.

I dont know. I would still take take Garland, Culver over White even though they arent performing well due to potential.
They have 2-3 years to prove their worth and I wouldnt write them off as busts yet.
That being said, pretty shocking White is outplaying most of the higher rated guards but hes more of a high floor/low ceiling type.

Cam Johnson has low key been a solid rotation piece for the Suns, minutes per game are steadily increasing as well.

Number don't fly off the map but 8 ppg on .624 TS% in 16min is really solid contribution of the bench. He's proven to be more than a spot up shooter and has surprisingly good BBIQ on both ends of the floor.

I was coming on here to post the same thing. His shooting is solid, but more surprisingly, so is his defense. He is no threat to be a ROY candidate, but he is turning out to be a difference-maker on what seems to be a good team.

Honest question... but what would Nunn have to do to actually win ROY? I say that in light of him being so far behind others in hype and name value like those that were highly drafted this past year.

Does he have a shot? If so.. what would that shot need to look like?

NBA rookie ladder

#4 Brandon Clarke

Last week: Not ranked
Clarke is flying under the radar a bit with Morant grabbing most of the rookie attention and Jaren Jackson Jr. drawing teams’ focus in the frontcourt. But Clarke has become more involved as the season has progressed, averaging 13.3 ppg and 6.7 rpg in three games this week. Overall this season, he's shooting 60.7% (42.9% on 3-pointers and 91.7% at the line) while leading all rookies in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and ranking second in blocks (1.3 bpg).

#5 Kendick Nunn

Last week: No. 5
Nunn has come back down to Earth a bit, but he’s still second among rookies in scoring (16.9 ppg) and tied for first in steals with Matisse Thybulle (1.6 spg). After struggling most of Tuesday night's game vs. Detroit, the undrafted rookie flipped a switch to finish with 20 points to help Miami win 117-108. His poise drew praise from his coaches and teammates. “I like the fact he was able to stay with it,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “A lot of that is his makeup. I’m sure the guys were talking to him. We communicate how important him being a threat is to our offense. He’s a talent. He’s a great shooter. He’s also a playmaker. He can do things off the catch or off the dribble, so we need that weapon.”

It's early, I'm not going to make a statement about Garland's career going forward. But did he just show off the best formula to raise draft stock?

Play a few college games against cupcakes, look amazing and then sit the rest of the games while your maintain a "mystery" intrigue.

He went from 15th ranked recruit in his class to #5 overall pick this way.

Yup. I've said many times if Cam did the same thing, he would've been locked in as the #2 pick.

Seriously, had a few hot shooting games and people extrapolated that small sample size as if he was this Trae Young-level shooter. A few draft guys pointed out that he doesn’t have a track record of elite shooting and kept him ranked in the late lottery.

It’s early but Garland to me does not look like he can easily be an NBA starter, so far he’s the only top 10 pick I would say that about (other than Hayes who has barely played).

He is small , shockingly unathletic and can’t guard anyone on an NBA court. Players like him have to be deadly shooters in order to provide value as a 30mpg+ starter.
