You should wear a mask but understand how to wear and disinfect properly. I've been wearing N95 masks when I go to the store. Found a pack in the garage. When those are used up I'll wear the surgical masks or make some cloth masks which is better than nothing.

I have a cloth mask that I'm debating on using for a grocery store run.

I'm fairly middle (like I know a few years ago I couldn't handle either NBC or Fox, so defaulted to CNN). But IMO they're the best of the 3 news type networks. Or at least were, maybe the bar is just that low or they've changed. My parents are in their 60s and moderate, and thats their go to. I like that they're cutting the junk from these pressers too.

Edit: Honest question, have they changed a lot? My grandpap used to watch them when he was alive (this was like 10 years ago at least) and he wasn't someone I'd call liberal either.

Edit again to add and say: Also "I see what you did with fair and balanced (and they're the worst lol).

Spoiler:
It's just as bad as NBC these days.

Just tune-in for 10 minutes & you'll spot it right away. CNN adopted the NBC philosophy. Nothing but far left leaning commentators. i.e. Chris Cuomo.

I don't really think that's far left though, I generally used to watch Cooper at times when I'd see him, he's slightly liberal but not way far fro,m what I recall. I'm pretty moderate/slight liberal, but they're pretty well better than NBC IMO, and miles ahead of Fox. Not sure if it changed recently but the image was only 2018. M

I will admit I like they cut the BS from these pressers, and would still take them over the other 2 (Fox is totally hot trash, they might as well be advertisements at this point). I'd still rate them over the other 2, maybe that's just damning with faint praise b/c I don't watch much news and they're relatively better I think?.

Again though, I rarely rarely watch cable news, even today. Try to avoid it whenever possible.

Lmao at CNN being reliable either. How many settlements and retractions in the last couple years? No network has retracted as many faulty statements or settled for defamation like CNN in recent years. You'll be a lot wiser to be skeptical of CNN as much as Fox or any other mainstream media. They all lie their asses off (Fox and CNN included) and push agenda 24/7 with almost no real news.

Yep. Independent media is ideal. Smaller operations. The big mainstream ones are fully bought at this point and are basically political ad campaigns. You won't find news 90% of the time.

I mean Fox is pretty far worse, they were downplaying this a month ago. They never really criticize, and just looking at even the graphic posted they're middle relative the other 2.

I work in TV so sometimes enroll if I have a substantial break between gigs and it’s nearly impossible to speak to anyone even if there is a low rate. If you google how to speak to a person there are websites that will give you the combination of command numbers to hit to navigate the menus and speak to someone. That may be different now with the menu. Best bet is to use the contact link and send a message.

I just finished a show like the week before the first national social distancing guidelines were set and before the CA stay at home so I just beat the rush. And in my line of work they don’t have to check on the Circumstances for lack of work either so no real verification is required. Once they get to your paper work though you should receive any back-logged payments and hopefully they come to you soon!
Update! They finally sent me something asking me to verify my identity lol. Sent them copy of passport, that tells me they are going to approve me and just need documentation. My co worker applied after me and is already approved damn it! Good luck to you friend

Good to hear dude. I already got approved as well but if it was a small issue that you had been waiting on delays can take forever. I one time had the wrong address because I was supposed to put the payroll company from my pay stub instead of the production company address and it took like a month to get things straightened out. They made the payments but sucks to wait when you have bills to pay

The rest of the world was pretty much as unprepared as the USA has been. I blame China's disinformation, not our government for our unpreparedness. As far as our government, they were focused in a battle of impeachment from Both Sides as a high priority during the initial stages of Coronavirus.

I wonder what our Scientists with the CDC was thinking from November thru February. Because, they should have made this a priority for our Politicians to address than blaming the Politicians themselves.

Anyways, in other news, I just read this article on yahoo regarding China being more complicit in the Virus. May be conspiracy, but is a great read on countries communications regarding bioweapons. Kind of wierd that a Chinese person was caught trying to bring virus's into USA labeled "Antibodies" two months before Coronavirus.

https://news.yahoo.com/suspected-sars-virus-and-flu-found-in-luggage-fbi-report-describes-chinas-biosecurity-risk-144526820.html

The rest of the world is NOT as underprepared as the USA was. Canada is doing better than us. South Korea, Singapore the list goes on. You have states like Georgia and Florida that refused to do anything for the longest time. Mostly the Republican states with Republican leadership that are failing to act.

Yeah luckily for me as I said I was ending the season of my show and going on hiatus so I knew to plan for these things and start saving regardless of the pandemic so I have a few months rent always on retainer. For someone like you (this is an assumption so sorry if I’m wrong) but if you have a job with a very secure future and have never had any unexpected layoff, this has gotta be very nerve-wrecking.

On the bright side The extra fed money though will be very helpful as the maximum payments in CA are very small given the cost of living in the cities. I’m not the thriftiest person but always subscribe to the thought that you shouldn’t pay more than 25% of your monthly income on rent so not careless. But 1800 per month doesn’t cover much after rent in lots of LA.

Fox is basically state media at this point, they've been far and away the worst to a point where they've become the butt of jokes. They were claiming this whole thing was a conspiracy not long ago (and still try to downplay it). I've never met someone who liked it who didn't lean very far right. NBC tends to go left, CNN fairly middle.

I mean Fox is pretty far worse, they were downplaying this a month ago. They never really criticize, and just looking at even the graphic posted they're middle relative the other 2.

I haven't watched this yet but if this virus takes our Netflix too IDK what is gonna happen lol.

Fox News has opinion hosts but they never pretend otherwise. Their straight news guys like Wallace are generally pretty good. CNN tries to pass off Don Lemon as a independent. Stelter and his frequent guests Dan Rather and Brian Williams host a show called reliable sources (not a parody) and generally just make excuses when the media gets it wrong. About the only guy who doesn't have an angle and is a straight news guy is Wolf Blitzer.

So no CNN is generally not solid. The 80 percent of Fox which is opinion isn't either. How I get my news is realclearpolitics they aggregate the stories and give two different sides from there I make my own determination.
