Great analysis.

All that "defense" and yet he's still the #2 center behind the little chubby kid from Serbia. BACK TO BACK!

He's the new Steve Nash.

Lol. Jokic is an Eastern European in the time of overwhelming anti-Russian sentiment, playing for one of the least attractive markets. There's zero chance he's being privileged in any way.

The gap on offense is far greater between Jokic > Embiid than the defensive gap is.

Embiid can barely sniff 4 assists per game let alone the 9 Jokic puts up as the greatest passing centre of all time.

Factor in the 66% v 61% TS and 59% v 50% FG and it isn't even close between what the 2 do offensively.

MVP is a joke at this point, narrative award voted on by guys who likely dont watch much, as evidenced by them always butchering names of role players. They are extremely close offensively. Embiid doesnt play PG on his team like Jokic, so naturally his assists are lower. From what Ive seen lots of Jokics assists are just guys running off him for easy looks in the high post. Hes not breaking the D down off the dribble and disecting it or anything. But enjoy that trophy!

Watch games not twitts from but-hurt Embiid's coach. And keep on crying

It's obvious that you don't watch Jokic at all. And in the same post, you claim he won because the voters don't watch much. But somehow you know that if they watched the games, like you didn't, they would not have voted for him.

So much fail here.

Yes, a lot of people are anti-Russian. But is Jokic Russian now? No. Secondly, he's Eastern European. Russia is not in East Europe. Also. There is literately no anti-sentiment for Eastern European countries. Just Russia. Thirdly, we all know Jokic is NOT Russian. Jokic fanboys out of control. :nonono:

The anti-Russian sentiment extends to anyone from Eastern Europe? Since when?

While I think the white privilege notion is ridiculous, MVP would be privilege from the media who is voting for the award, not about privilege while on the court. There's no privilege needed, the guy is amazing. Just because someone else is amazing too doesn't mean he isn't amazing.

Yeah, America has a great relationship with Serbia, and Serbians are portrayed in overwhelmingly positive roles in movies :)

Wait, they’re overwhelmingly cast as villains/terrorists?!

Wait a sec, I believe Jokic was in Serbia when NATO and the US bombed them killing innocent civilians over the course of 2.5 months during operation “Merciful Angel”….

I can't wait for MPJ and Murray to come back healthy for a full season just to see what kind of damage Denver can do. Morris, Hyland, Rivers and Gordon will be more comfortable in their roles, maybe the Nuggets retain Cousins to round up their 8 man rotation. I legitimately believe they can go toe to toe with Memphis and Phoenix next year (CP3 declining as he ages).

Well, you know as a Clippers fan I'm hoping the Clippers can be healthy and on top of the WC, but the healthy Nuggets will be very interesting to watch.

Phoenix should still be the team to beat with Booker, Bridge, Ayton & Johnson having more experience (damn all of them so freaking young and already battle tested), and then Memphis/Denver/GS/Clippers (assuming the wings of Leonard/George/Morris are healthy) should be the second tier.

As impressive as GSW is this year, with Curry and Green being another year old, Thompson doesn't look Thompson anymore, I don't think Poole & Kuminga can take the next steps to lead.

Actually most of us Clippers fans are trying to move on from Morris.

Well, one of your last presidents couldn't tell a difference between Slovenia and Slovakia, so I wouldn't be so sure an average Joe Sixpack knows Serbia is not Siberia. Or at least this guy doesn't:

“I thought Nikola Jokic was Russian”: Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal hilariously mistakes Serbian Nuggets star’s nationality, speaks to him in Russian

Time to compare close out games…

If you combine Embiid’s game 5 and game 6, he’s almost at Nikola Jokic’s game 5 close out game impact….

Embiid fans love to bring up the playoffs when discussing the MVP race. So let's talk playoffs.

Embiid is 28 and has never been past the second round of the playoffs.

41st pick Center winning MVP 2x in a Row over a 3rd pick Center.

Thats the relevant stat for me.
