Vezenkov is doing a lot of work. Too bad that Bulgaria is 0-2.

It's to be expected. He's like Doncic for our team in the sense that he's levels above his teammates. He only had 11 FGA vs Spain though, so could have taken more responsibility in that game.

Do people who have watched him more feel he can make it in NBA (Kings hold his rights) ? He's kinda similar to Saric and I posted on Suns board I would rather have Vezenkov, who's an up and coming player than Dario, who's on a decline especially after latest injury.

He was an All-Euroleague 1st teamer this season, and the best PF after Mirotic so this is not technically correct :D

Prime Saric was much better player than Vezenkov. He had some ball handling and playmaking abilities. Vezenkov is only spot up shooter. I don't believe either Saric or Vezenkov can have any kind of impact in Nba nowadays.

Vezenkov is an excellent cutter and good on punishing mismatches on the block, the majority of his attempts come from the paint in the last 2 years.
Saric's main advantage is passing and D, Vezenkov is not an above average passer and whilst he has become OK on D in Euroleague (he was a f***ing traffic cone until ~2020) I don't believe he has the tools to defend well in any of the forward spots in the NBA. Saric was not great but he was a functional defender, IIRC.

I agree that it's to be expected. Bulgaria isn't one of the strong teams in the tournament and they're not expected to advance to the next round. Maybe they can get a win, though, against Belgium or Georgia. They are still the underdogs in those games, imo, but they did fight a lot against Turkey so they a shot.

As for Sasha, I'm not sure if he could make it in the NBA but if it was in my hands, I'd give him a chance. He is a big guy that can shoot and there is value in that.

Well, thats the joke, he is top 6 guy in Europe and top 4 in Euroleague MVP rankings, so... technically, he could be top guy on average Eurocup team haha  Thats what I meant, I tried to be silly about an obvious troll comment

SAric was god at lesser level, in Euroleague tho, he wasnt the guy who dribbles the ball. Of course he was much younger and probably improved in the NBA, but we never really saw that on Croatian team. Vezenkov is better Euroleague guy thatn Saric ever was, put him on CIbona and hes a god too, Vezenkov is definitely an NBA caliber guy, no questions asked in my opinion, might not be the most successful, but man can play. I would probably compare him to guys like Bojan, Tobias Harris and Thadeus Young.

Great game right now. Germany leads against Lithuania with 46:41. It's the Franz Wagner show right now. 18 points at the half and scoring in every way. Sabonis a non factor until now but Valanciunas is playing great. Let's bring this one home! :)

Another day in the office for Vazenkov, but yet again its not enough, Bulgaria is 0-3, Montenegro grabs a needed win.

We as Lithuanians are fortunate to have all star caliber player in the NBA, but he sure is almost a non factor for us on a FIBA level, it is crazy. If we could just trade Sabonis for a guy like Facundo Campazzo, I feel that would make a big difference.

I hope SAbonis shuts me up, but man, yet another tournament where he looks like an average non NBA dude.
