It's kinda weird that in 2 of the 3 series we've made the other team adjust their starting lineup to match up against us. And the other one they should've made an adjustment to match up against us.

That Bridges trade from New York is a complete disaster. If they were a bit more patient, they likely have assets to go nab Giannis this off-season if he bolts. Or they stack assets for the next star that wants out. They went all-in for a player who does not warrant it.

99.9% of the Knicks fan base disagrees with you strongly

And !!!! there is a perception that New York have the most knowledgeable fans in the league, it’s crazy :banghead:

Yeah he was on his contract year Pacers gave 3 #1's and Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwara. I was against it at the time because of the the 2026 #1 pick. But the trade worked out fine as Pascal Signed a long term deal. I didn't think he'd sign.

Apparently Siakam made it known he wanted to go to Indiana.

The Haliburton effect.

You can check the acquisition threads. I thought you guys robbed Toronto.

Paskal also said he thought Turner was perfect for him to play alongside in the front court, their game would mesh well together. The Pacers were 90% sure he would re-sign or they wouldn't have made the trade. I was pretty surprised we didn't have to give up one of our young guys.

He fit right in from day one, so it was never a question on re-signing. I was on broad day one with the trade. I knew he was really good player after watching the Raps title run pretty closely. Still he's a lot better than I thought. Very underrated.

Sacramento pushed hard to get Paskal, but he flat out told them he didn't like the fit with Sabonis, would clog up the lane and said he wouldn't re-sign with them.

He’s a great role player and a mediocre #1, even #2. But as a role player, he’s a very good 3 and D wing who can create off the dribble a little. A perfect fit next to high usage players like Brunson and KAT.

Bucks traded for a similar player like Holiday (Holiday is a better player, don’t get me wrong, but was clearly also more of a great role player/glue guy), and they went on to win the title in no small part because of Holiday’s contributions.

With that said…yeah, that was a massive overpay for Bridges, just like it was for Holiday. Fortunately for the Bucks, it worked out, so nobody really cares about what they gave up, because they got a title out of it. But when you’re about to lose in the conference finals and your team has basically maxed out their potential at this point, trading like 5-6 1st rounders for a 15 ppg role player that’s not “the missing piece” hurts a lot.

The Knicks still have the assets, especially if Giannis were to demand a trade to the Knicks, which by no means is an unthinkable scenario.

Those projected late firsts traded for Mikal are very likely quite worthless, assuming the Knicks stay in the race for a number of season, as they easily should.

I mean, the Raptors did tank in Pascal's later years and all that losing can definitely feel like dark times to the players.

That's NOT what he meant by dark times. You don't know this because nobody pays attention to Raptors. but after Kawhi left Pascal was our best ISO player. Nurse went to him for late game ISO situations, because he was our best, and also to develop him further.

And admittedly, he was still developing, and was still pretty raw. From that year which ended with playoffs in covid, to 2022-23 season, there was relentless criticism of Pascal as a player, and as a human being by a large number of Raptors fan base. Some of which were quite frankly racist (like send him back to Africa, etc). It was all over social media, and it impacted his game and shooting. Pascal admitted this, and he stopped engaging in social media after that covid season. That criticism was everywhere - twitter, on reddit, and on this VERY board. It was ugly. Even Masai mentioned that in his end of year press conference. It wasn't until his 2nd all-star season Pascal criticism became less intense. I remember that vividly because I spent long hours defending Pascal on boards. Same thing happened with Ibaka too. Not all Canadians are nice.

Wow, I'd never heard this. That's very sad, they're horrible people everywhere. Makes me ever happier for Paskal, not just the basketball player, the person.

Way to go, Pacers!

Impressive bounce back game that they desperately needed. Now go take care of business at MSG.

The Knicks had just traded for OG. They didn't need another OG. Or certainly not as the finishing touch on their roster.

Becky Hammon is correct about Brunson and many Knicks fans clamped her for it.

I don't know what she said, but Brunson is a really good player. Hali is just better.

Both guys have established themselves as top-10 players in these playoffs.

Clearly the better coach!
When I saw Knicks running with Pacers for the first 12min, it was obvious that they will be without legs in the 4th..
WTF is Tibbs doing??
Knicks are not built to run like that, they need to slow the pace to 95-105pts game, then they can win
Any game that goes over 110-115pts=Pacers win

Ah, I see. Thanks for the context. That does indeed sound like dark times.
Yeah there's quite a few of goofies on the Raptors boards.

You'll see some of them on the GB too. :)

Bridges is an awful POA defender. Haliburton is literally walking by him every time. Icing on the cake is his inability to navigate and fight through screens. Its crippling the Knicks defense
