Damm Luka is a monster! A shame our team sucks. Good to know that I continue to dislike Smart, dumb-bad-evil player.

Look at what we have coming off the bench. Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaxson Hayes, Jake LaRavia, and the corpse of Marcus Smart. We have GABE VINCENT starting games. This team is beyond doomed.

It’s a disgrace.

He's been farting since the ink dried on the rookie extension.

There’s a real fair point to be made with this.

I guess I was just saying this in that now that his major extension is over, his first game on a new team in a major “prove it” year is ass, it sure feels like he’s on the path to nothing but vet min deals and overseas play from here on out.
Get ready to learn Chinese buddy... #YangBang

I'm old enough to remember when quite a few people said that Marcus Smart was the team's best player. OK, they never quite said the word "best" because they couldn't since the Celts had Tatum, but they said "most important," which is effectively the same thing.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/seandeveney/2020/07/24/marcus-smart-is-celtics-most-important-player-on--off-the-floor/

That sort of nonsense is what happens when a) a player is noted for hard work and b) the team has a stretch when it loses games when he is injured. People then invent c) a one-factor reason why the team is losing games, that being it depends so heavily on its leading worker bee.

That's never right but fans think that sort of thing over and over again. My God, Bulls fans even made that argument with Pat Beverly during the one half-season that we had him. If you can think that not just PatBev, but the geriatric version of PatBev is responsible for win after win, you can believe pretty much anything.

Never a good sign when you get 69 points from Luka and Austin and still lose. Curry didn't do anything wild either.

Indeed. Need more 3 point shooters. But everybody need them, right?

We have the harder parts figured out, a superstar creator and a decent second option, but still need to fill the roster.

Curry and Butler are so fun to watch.

Just imagine this duo in their prime!

where are you gonna find competent role players? letting go of DFS is going to be a big loss for the Lakers...

Jake LaRavia, Marcus Smart, Jackson Hayes?? Dalton Knecht??

Lakers got real issues

Alperen Sengun was really impressive yesterday. He looked like a Nikola Jokic clone and could emerge as an MVP candidate, bad news for US born players.

NBA on nbc is already better than anything on espn. It’s still a long season but very impressed with them so far.

He has a very anti JK box line

JK has always been willing to pass. He just isn't always able. When he has to put the ball on the floor his vision cone gets very narrow. But he's not actually selfish, just limited.

I didn't mean to sound pejorative about it. I have him on my dynasty style squad on the Knicks forum and am thrilled to see him carry over his rebounding and assists from the preseason into the regular season. Like you said, it's not selfishness but ability and maybe he's starting to put those abilities together.

Some of those pieces would make a whole lot more sense if there was a second option that complemented Luka better. LeBron will help with playmaking but, ironically, Davis would make this whole thing hum a lot better.
