so you guys get to come up with the exact threshold of when a player should qualify for MVP and when they shouldn't? what about when LeBron won MVPs with Wade and Bosh, did you have a problem with it then?

2011 would have been a problem ... For the other years, not since Wade, even if he was still an all-star in 2012 and 2013 in regular season, he was no longer a top 5 players in the NBA with his problems with his knees .... Also the Heat had not the same depth as the Warriors (Our 4th best player in 2012 was Mario Chalmers) and the heat had some big weaknesses as in rebounds or against teams with good big man.Lack of spacing in 2012 were also a problem that many forget because of the last game in the NBA finals.

oh, so it's that 4th/5th spot that DQ'd Steph/Durant in 18 and 19 but doesn't DQ LeBron/Davis now, right? is that your argument?

Find me where I said LeBron was the 2020 MVP for this year over Giannis in the past month .... You are going to be unable but keep saying things that we have never said!

pretty comical

then what have you been doing in this thread?

It is because some like you are unable to see the difference between the current Lakers team and the Warriors. It was not to say that LBJ is the MVP.

Warriors had way better depth in 2017, no comparison,.... Curry and Durant were not good enough to win the MVP in 2018 and 2019.

explain to us exactly the difference, take 2019 Warriors team, what about it specifically that DQ'd Durant/Steph from MVP that doesn't DQ Davis/LeBron this year.

please, let us know what where the threshold exactly stands so we all operate under the same rules as you LeBron guys.

Disqualified was perhaps not the right word, but this debate is useless, since Curry and Durant were never close to winning the MVP in his years .... Never finished in the top 3 and no, the voters were not LeBron fans.

So Klay is the difference? Because there have been multiple threads on how garbage Dray is.

a lot of threads about how Klay is overrated too.

they don't care about being consistent, they just have a narrative to push.

You're continuing to make up false narratives so you can have something to whine about. Poster X says something ignorant about Green, poster Y says something Ignorant about Thomson. You attribute their positions to people who didn't make those claims, i.e. LeBron stans, then go one mini tirades about positions that you made up.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

It's not that complicated. MVP usually goes to BPBT. Those years it doesn't, it's probably going to a guy with really impressive stats. Curry and Durant were 3rd best record, disqualifying them by the most common standard. They also didn't have stats that stood out in any way. Curry had the additional barrier of missing enough games to have his candidacy take a bit of a hit.

I'm not saying that I agree with the standards, but they are what they are.

James Harden was today just one foul away to become the first-ever player in NBA history who achieve quad-RIP-le-double!

(quad-RIP-le-double is triple-double with 10+ turnovers and 6 personal fouls)

Just to be clear. LeBron isn't the BPBT front runner so that MVP argument doesn't work for him. He's a fairly close second and on track for about 65 wins which is a fantastic season for his team, but still trails the clear front runner there.

He doesn't have a particularly strong stats guy claim, though he leads in assists, so there's something to be argued on his behalf in this category at least.

Where he has a stronger claim is in the concept that his team struggles more without him than GA's team struggles without him angle. If someone heavily values that, they might justify an MVP vote for LeBron on that basis since his team is close to the best team.

To be fair to Curry, there's reason to argue this last idea in his favor in recent seasons as well. It's clear the Warriors are not the same team when he's not playing.

Sports doc weighs in on potential Giannis injury.

Read on Twitter

Giannis is doubtful for the Bucks' game tomorrow against Phoenix. I'm guessing the team doesn't want to play him until they get the MRI results. Not sure when the MRI was/will be done, or when the results will come back.

Why is Clive still crying about KD and Stephanie being “disqualified “ from mvp between 17-19? Neither guy deserved mvp any of these years.

Complaining about something that maybe could have happened but never happened.

If the bucks are smart they sit him. MVP doesn’t matter if he is gimpy in the post season.

99% of the “Lebron stans” in this thread have coincided the MVP to Giannis, quite clearly. However anyone following the NBA know Lebron has been playing great, like best player in the league great, and he just won a head to head matchup with Giannis, so naturally he will get some attention. This is a huge game today against the Clippers.

As far as the Curry/ Durant garbage, no one cares. Durant joined a 73 win team, very hard to win MVP under those circumstances.

LeBron's the best player in the world. He's proven it back to back now. Taken over down close stretches of games while his top 2 competitors got outmatched. He doesn't have the conventional case going, but if Giannis' knee tanks his efficacy down the stretch; LeBron's gonna sweep that award right out from under his feet.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

lebron has been robbed of mvps and fmvps before so this could still go to giannis but lebron is the clear-cut best player in the game still in his 17th season, also the undisputed goat and it's not even close anymore.
