He hasn't disappeared. His teammates are getting wide open looks because of the doubles & triple teams they are throwing at him. Maybe if they were losing you would have a point.

And, he only has 2 assists. The guy just can't do it any longer. He'll have one of those high scoring games when teams let him, but he is nowhere close to MVP.

His impact goes far above counting stats. They are wide open because the entire defense is focused on him.

Curry has to be the GOAT. Has anyone ever gotten triple teamed nonstop every game?

So we've gone from talking about small sample sizes of 5 games, to game to game and now to a quarter of basketball?

He has 18 points on 6-12 shooting through 3 quarters and is getting hate. This is unbelievable.

Draymond went from looking like a worse player than Paschall without Curry to DPOY, ATG point forward with him. The difference is just astounding in how Draymond plays with or without Curry.

What we should be talking about is that the Warriors lost to the Pacers without Oladipo with Curry having a mediocre game. Exposed.

The Pacers are a good team.

They beat the Celtics who are top of the East without Oladipo as well.

They played box and 1 on Curry all game but I doubt you haters don't even know what that is.

Missed a few crucial buckets in the fourth to swing the momentum in the pacer's favor. Overall a net negative.

At this point, this game was better than expected

Not a good game by Curry, he does go from looking very average to elite from game to game though so not too worried

A lot of players are doing that this year. It's a strange start to the season.

Elite players tho ? Seems like his variance is higher than his peers this yr (small sample size )

A TON of players in the top 25 or so have had more off games than normal to start the year. Lillard is sitting right around his averages over the past 3 or so years, but he's had a smattering of bad games in there. I watched AD be useless against the Blazers. Kawhi's stats look good but he's been hit or miss as far as impact when I'm watching. The short start is causing inconsistency leaguewide IMO. I'm sure it will iron itself out if players can stay healthy.

Let's be real this off ball bs ain't gonna work with this roster. If he doesn't play like harden he the warriors won't win. Simple as that. Kerr wants to put the fate of the team on oubre and wiggins 3s instead.

They do only won once without him scoring 30 and that game they almost lost after being up 16

Definitely a myth. He is seeing typical superstar defense, where the defense is focused on stopping him / taking away aspects of his game and living with his teammates beating them. They are making it more difficult for him to quality looks. But he is not being triple teamed all game. Just look at the buckets he scored.

People are just cherry picking images from games where multiple defenders happen to be surrounding him, but that is nothing new and even happened when klay was around. It is just that he handled it differently back then.

So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

He's not going to be harden. And Harden isn't going to be Curry. One style of play can get a team to 5 straight finals. The other gets you deep into the playoffs. Both are great and different.

Er definitely not a myth. The box and one is a lot different to what you are posting there.

Multiple teams this year and dating backing to game 6 of the 2019 finals when Klay went down have defended him in a box and one. Literally forcing him to make passes the moment he gets the ball over half court. His talent still allows him to get looks but it certainly is a unique way of being defended.

In the Clippers game the other night in the first half he had to take advantage of any tiny opening he got to shoot threes. He started getting far better looks once Wiggins etc starting hitting threes in the third.

LeBron, KD etc have never copped this type of defence because they don’t possess the shooting ability of Steph. The heavy attention LeBron has copped has always been about packing the paint.

The only other player to get defended in a similar way is Harden and it has caused him and the Rockets to have all sorts of weird games where he barely shoots or can’t get decent looks.

Very very true. I said it in another thread, double and triple teaming outside the three point line doesnt work against every player. If you do that against lebron, he will simply stay calm, orchestrate the offense, tell everyone to get in a certain position and then make the right pass. If you do that to ben simmons or giannis, they will attack the basket every single time and their teams would cruise to multiple rings.

However, if you sag off Giannis and pack the paint, it disrupts his offense and his teams offense too. Try sagging off Steph for the entire playoffs and he will win his first finals mvp.

Another advantage those taller players that you mentioned have is that they can just give up the ball, walk into the low post and get the ball there. Sure you could triple team KD and lebron in the post, but that, again, would just make life extremely easy for them.

The defense against steph is similar to what lillard was seeing against the warriors in the POs.

A guard like Westbrook or Morant would thrive against that defense. But, as mentioned before, it wouldnt be an intelligent way to defend those guys.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
