You're offended by Perk and SAS? They are there to stir drama...
I think most of Perkins talking are easily disproven, except Nash MVP Vs CP3 2 years ago, it was extremely similar situation.

one thing is creating drama on basketball, another is throwing the race card in.
that's disrespectful, that's important stuff that should be managed more carefully.

on Paul-Nash, the biggest difference is that Nash won against an aging Shaq, Paul faced a much much stronger competition.
We can then argue the differences between the two, but this alone kills the discussion.

Who cares what the career scrub thinks about, its lots of fun watching them (mainstream media) ,having the meltdowns every season.

There is nothing sacred about racial discrepancies, grown ups should be able to handle these conversations, including saying, yes all of X belong to a certain race, doesn't mean they were chosen for their race, but their actions/qualities.

Didn't intend to open it here, I already opened a similar thread on the GB.

that's exactly what he said, people voted for Nash, Dirk or Jokic because they are white (or they are not born in America, maybe...)

Because he started with since 1990 lmao. He didn’t want to talk about MVP’s before then. He didn’t want to talk about Kareem Abdul Jabbar winning MVP on a SUB .500 team.

So stupid to even bring up Dirk. That dude only won one MVP. The Mavs won 67 games and Dirk was easily the best player.

And he's wrong, Reddick will set him straight, nothing offensive about it...

Whatever ESPN got what they want. They took a quote from Perkins, even though he said he has no issue with players trying to get stats here or there. Players will do it or teammates will do it.

But they made the Stat pad quote a big deal. Had JJ come for a rebuttal and now Perkins. Jokic rarely gives them something to talk about, but he made the comment on it too last night. They’ll get all their views on this now.

This is a good thing I think. This will motivate Jokic even further. Jokic has been proving himself since he got in the league. It what makes him better year after year.

Max is trolling and knows he's that good but Max has actually dumbed down for his new audience on this show now and he really dumbs down depending on the guest he has. Again the thing is with these modern talking head shows they have to appeal not only to the dumbest casuals but also to the dumbest ex-players too so they can bring them on as guests. Only time I now tune into Max is maybe when he talks boxing(of course) or baseball but he seldom does that because his cohosts aren't knowledgeable about it cause most modern talking heads only watch NFL, NBA, CFB and don't know anything about any other sports. It's kind of amazing how sports shows have completely shifted from having actual newspaper columnists or beat reporters as hosts/guests and completely pivoted to more and more ex-players or loud media personalities. Guess that was too "boring" for the modern fans now.

Stop being so defensive about random ESPN takes. The last 4-5 pages are about the statpadding thing. These guys will debate about everything with hot takes.

Giannis did a silly fake trash talking segment on a tv show and Shannon with Bayless talked about how unfair it is for Durant for 12 minutes straight.

Yeah I think what drives him to be the best is proving to himself he is. He has said that in the past. This type of thing adds fuel to the fire. I remember the first mvp the had a tshirt with all of quotes about jokic being slow etc. on it. I expect him to go on a tear these last 20 games and playoffs.

Again the mainstream conversation about Jokic to me stresses what I've said for awhile now in that mainstream media doesn't want anymore Tim Duncans in the modern sports climate ever again because it's simply not good for business. Jokic could win multiple rings but again he plays in a small market, doesn't have a highlight producing playstyle, not demonstratively cocky on the court, and oh he's also European and white. To them a white European player can never be the best player in basketball or in the discussion, he just can't lol. Also to them in modern sports you cannot have a best player of a sport has no personality and give them no content to discuss daily. The only reason Duncan was acknowledged is because 5 rings speak for themselves. This is the same mainstream media that at times tries to bring up the fact that Mike Trout never makes the playoffs and didn't want to play for NYY, LAD, BOS so he should be dismissed or not discussed. The concept that not every best player is going to be Brady, Manning, Jordan, Mahomes or Lebron, Steph and Curry is something that they will not accept. I just find it incredibly hilarious that now they all praise Giannis to slight Jokic when they were dismissing him even after he won a ring.

The funniest thing about these shows and their hot takes is its actually bringing the current athletes together in their disdain for all of these shows and their hosts. Things like this are exactly why KD, Kyrie, WB hate them. KD and Giannis get along with each other just fine as do Jokic and Embiid and many other stars. I now see more and more why Draymond and Reddick's shows are becoming more popular
