At this early stage the mvp race is so congested and volatile that single games are swaying my opinion. I guess currently Embiid by a whisker, but one bad game would drag him down to about 5th.

with that pace, 37/16 is more like 25 and 10 lol, but awesome stuff. Indy are hella fun and Hali is awesome!

He had 37/14 at the end of the third quarter and then the Hawks started double teaming him in the backcourt just to get the ball out of his hands because he was so on fire.

KD is back to playing like the best player in the world the past 4 games. Absolutely otherworldly efficiency and scoring, with a huge uptick in playmaking.

This board will never give him the credit he deserves, but he's balling right now.

If not for an uncharacteristically slow start with his free throw shooting, he'd be in the 54/50/90 club on 30 ppg.

Insane

once he does it for 90+ games per season like Jokic does it, than the board's skepticism will fade away

Calm down chief lol. Haliburton got an extremely long way to go to be in that conversation

Well obviously. That’s why I said IF he ever becomes an average defender. I’m not saying he will.

So, Hali becomes averages defender, that makes him better than Magic or Steph?

ofc this board will give him credit for it...

honestly after the first few games where his lift and jumper were looking pretty bad, I thought he was headed towards a decline but dude is just sooooo good and skilled

it'll be hard for him to maintain these numbers when Beal and Booker will both be playing and he hasn't been able to play full seasons ever since the injury but he's obviously been bonkers and is at least for now, he's def up there in the MVP ladder

Haliburton as number 2 in the mvp race when he’s the 6th seed is insanity. Having Fox as top 5 is insanity as well.

It’s Giannis then Jokic then the rest don’t even matter. One of those two will be the winner with Embiid being on the cusp

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Rationale for not having Giannis in the "Right on the cusp" - I'm not going to say Giannis is blowing anyone away right now, but I have him above LBJ and KD

here we go, Joe L Embiid is already load managing and like always he does it by pick and choosing:

the MVP (!) has a big game tonight at Minnesota sitting atop the West, well...not anymore since he's ducking it as usual,
gotta protect the stats, pad them against the tanking teams and sit out away from home vs. the best

doesn't want to face the league's best defense I guess...

such a bad look but after ducking the Denver game this is really just par for the course tbh, is anyone here even surprised? lmfao
