It’s quite obvious why he’s ducking.

Looks worse than his laughably bad playoff stats.

Don’t forget the 6.5 turnovers per game.

I mean, this is not rocket science, Embiid barely plays in Utah either, played there one time since 2019 IIRC but the altitude is not as high as Denver, this is a guy that is huffing and puffing in playoffs as he has to play many minutes. He always plays against Celtics, always plays against Giannis in Milwaukee, against Jokic in Philadelphia, etc, I seriously doubt he would only duck Jokic specifically in Denver if he is scared of him, he is just a dude that cannot handle high altitude for **** IMO.

Since his presence will be missed... and you may be shocked to not see him here 24x7, that is the why. Let's hope he's back for the duel in Denver.

I don't think Embiid will play, this is my prediction on what will happen, as it is the second game of a back to back, Embiid will play in the first game against Pacers, and he will mysteriously fall down and "tweak" something, so he will miss the Denver game.
You can quote me on this.

The back to back thing was a mistake, probably because I was looking at the schedule in Europe time where the Indiana game was played on January 26th here and the game today is still on Jan 27th.

To be more fair to Philly fans it is asinine that the NBA wanted this marquee game and had it as a back to back for either of the teams.

Then no one should ever bring Embiid's head to head against Jokic. Don't want to hear it

then why the sham? why not come out and say so?
what's the point of having him travel with the team to Denver and warm up, instead of resting in Philly?

besides, Denver has always been at this altitude. are there players other than Embiid that can't handle the altitude to this degree? how come he's so special?

Embiid cannot miss more than 6 games for the rest of season or he'll be ineligible for MVP.

He ain't scared of Jokic but its a very bad look to miss 5 games in a row there. I don't think any player is scared of anyone. Its just a ball game for christ sakes.

I agree he has mediocre conditioning but if by some miracle he makes the Finals and faces Denver he is cooked....

Probably has some weird health condition or something, he is obviously not going to say this as it signals a huge weakness, could affect future contracts, etc.

He's scared of something. Won't even sit on the bench because why? Afraid the Denver crowd will mock him even more?

Yeah I wonder what Embiid haters would prefer, seeing Embiid crash out in 2nd round again or watch Sixers vs Nuggets finals where Embiid skips all the altitude games lol

I really do think that if the thunder finish this season out as a top seed in the west then SGA should get mvp...Because this isnt just a thunder team its a YOUNG thunder team dominating the league largely do to SGA playing at an incredibly high lvl...an MVP level if you will?

Jokic back on top as Denver evens the season series with Philly as Embiid ducks Denver once more.

This could be the dagger in Embiid's repeat MVP hopes.
Thank you Nico!

The 2nd best player on that team is either a 2nd year player or a rookie. It's absurd that he has them tied for the top seed in the west

Embiid is more scared of playing bad in Denver than playing Jokic. It is all about stats. He doesn’t want to look bad when he can’t handle the attitude

Philadelphia medical team is notorious for **** like this. They could have gotten ahead of it, instead they left him off the injury report and gave an update 25 minute before tip off. I agree that is lame as ****. I'm not blaming Embiid on this though. Also not sure why people are upset if he's not playing, if it's physical. You can only control what you can. His body is brittle. I'd rather enjoy the remaining years he has in the league then nitpick at him all the time.

You can give it to SGA for all I care. Embiid isn’t the mvp though.
