Rose fans are always **** on other point guards, especially Rondo.

Anyway, Rondo seems like the type of player who'd get very motivated by something like this.

And I have to admit, I find it interesting Danny would say what he did, especially when at CelticsBlog, some guys feared for Rondo being injured or whatever, or thought him doing this would give him less time to practice his jumpshot. If Rondo didn't really wanna do it, and I admit I have more doubt about that than the idea that he actually DID withdraw, then I guess it was best he didn't go to Turkey, after all.

I hope Coach K clears the air sometime soon.

IMO there is no way that this was a basketball decision and probably had to do with things going on behind the scenes. We are absolutely a weaker team because of this cut. Rondo played decently against Lithuania, coming up with 3 steals that led to 3 fast breaks in like a two minute span. He did have 4 TOs, but so did Chauncey (although Chauncey played 8 more minutes). Chauncey also had 0 assists and 0 steals in that game. You don't go from starting one game to DNP-CD the next unless you pissed the coach off by breaking a rule or screwing around in practice. Either that or Durant is freezing him out MJ/Isiah Thomas style. From a basketball standpoint you have to believe we are worse now than we were yesterday

From Rondo's perspective, even if he made the team, why should he risk injury as a practice player? After two consecutive DNP-CDs, I would have walked away too, and if I were his agent that would have been my advice.

Uhhh...you must have missed the all star game then, because Derrick Rose was an All-Star.

I stand corrected. I did not realize Rose was selected. As for the game itself, I never watch. It's a boring exhibition in which no defense is played.

lol Rondo has haters. That guy has a great all around game with all-world court vision, and still getting hated on. Rose is another surprisingly polarizing player for some reason. Overall, Bulls & Celtics fans have been pretty annoying throughout this competition.

An unbiased point of view. If I have a choice between Rondo or Rose, it's Rondo every time. Rose just makes some awful decisions with the ball and couldn't guard a shopping cart.

Then surely you realize you cannot use the All-Star game as a point of argument for yourself

sounds extremely biased or just plain ignorant.

rondo is one of my favorite pgs, so is rose. rondo has every intangible you would want out of a pg. rose has every skill (minus the 3)

so yeah, your post is pretty transparent, sir rondo.

Says the Bulls fan. I didn't say Rose sucked, I said he makes bad decisions with the ball. He's a great finisher, and extremely quick, but that's where it ends. Rose does not play an ounce of defense. If you want to lie to yourself, go ahead.

Have you watched any of the games? Rose is pressuring the ball like crazy. I think Bulls fans and non-Bulls fans alike will agree with me. Be real, your post was extremely biased. In its view and wording.

If you want to harp on Rose's PnR defense, i don't have much of a retort for that. Though, with Thibs, I am sure he will improve this year.

Their A/TO ratios completely oibliterate your point. If anything, Rose is TOO CAUTIOUS at times with the ball....credibility, DENIED.

Shocked. Give me Rondo over Westbrook/Rose every time. Rajon dominates every aspect of the game except outside shooting. Given his quickness and court vision it seemed he would run circles around the opponet and dish the USA sharp-shooters all game long. Nobody can stay with him plus he's the best defensive PG on the planet. Oh well Coach K knows that he's doing. Go get em Yanks!

It was definitely a basketball decision. During the "real" games, teams will zone Team USA to the ground. Man to man, theres no way any nation can match up with USA player's athleticism. Their only chance of winning is by employing the old "imma pack the paint to prevent dribble penetration". If you can't shoot, you can't play. I figured either Rondo or Westbrook would've been cut.
