As a Hawks fan, i WOULDNT let Horford go but a Dwight Howard type player only come once in a while and Atlanta needs a star, this is the same risks that brought ppl like Mike Vick and Julio Jones to the Falcons lIke Greg Maddox and trading for Tex for the Braves, even know that he signed with Yankees. You have to take risk and Al do much better down there in Orlando

Bulls CANNOT make a better offer than Zaza and picks, because Bulls CANNOT take on Jason Richardson's contract

Rockets can make a better offer, but Hawks fans would welcome a Dwight trade to Houston, because Dwight will not resign with the Rockets and the Hawks can sign Dwight out right next year and keep all their draft picks and still have enough cap to make an offer to Chris Paul. :D

Not much was given up for Tex and the Greg Maddox situation has absolutely no similarity with a Horford/Dwight hypothetical :-?

If Dwight is going to walk from a situation to another one, it will be to Dallas if I had to guess. They have always been on his list and supposedly is a clear #2.

If Atlanta wants Dwight they would have to trade for him now and have the edge of 5th year and familiarity.

Zaza and two draft picks only equals anything the Mavs can put together, thus the Mavs CANNOT beat a Hawks' offer of Zaza and two picks for Dwight and JRich

Sure they can, Orlando would just have to take a player back. Someone that produces. Even Noah straight up would be better than that. They also have Charlottes pick, their own , Rip's $5mil expirer, Taj. any combo of those easily better than Zaza and 2 picks

That's not the point.
A plethora of teams could beat that offer even for a rental (like Houston), but if Dwight is being rented he is going to Dallas.

Right now, I'd say..

60% - LAL
20% - BK
10% - HOU
10% - ATL

Are the teams that trade for him this year... soon.
And of those teams I think he would leave Houston for Dallas.

Atlanta has to beat at least LA and Houston's offer.

keep thinking that. Dwight is pushing so hard for a trade because he doesnt want to give up that 5th guaranteed year and money

Right now, if Atlanta adds Al Horford to the mix, then they are top dog for Dwight, besides the Rockets can take on all of their bad contracts and give up picks as well. Even if he does walk away, Rockets will have his bird right, so they can signed him to higher deal then anybody.

Hawks knows that, so its better to get him now or trying to wait and get burned.

it takes two to trade, and the Bulls WILL NOT trade Noah until Dwight promises to sign an extension with Chicago :D :D

Okay but what can Lakers give to them, they have already use their draft picks to send to Phoenix for Steve Nash and they dont even know if Byunm is going to commit for another year. I say Atlanta got this if they added Al.

how do you know? I dont know, you dont know. They might see the same thing everyone else does. Without a trade, he isnt going to Brooklyn. He isnt going to LA. He can go to Dallas - rebuilding, Houston - rebuilding, Atlanta - depends on whether Smith stays or not, or stay on a winning team with Rose/Deng/etc

The Hawks entire plan is based on CP3 leaving the Clippers to go to the Hawks. It just isn't going to happen. Really by sounds if it if CP3 could have signed a 5 year extension right now he would. They pretty much just hoping that Josh Smith and playing in his hometown will guilt Dwight into staying. Even if he can't go to Brooklyn Chicago can amnesty Boozer and he go play with Rose. Really just about every team is going to start positioning themselves for Dwight next summer. What going to end up happening instead of loosing Dwight for nothing they trade him to Brooklyn.

I guess Orlando would get Al Horford. Not loving that deal really. The Magic are stacked with PFs. Having Horford at center just makes them small. I keep hearing people say the Hawks can offer a deal but really Al Horford just isn't much of a piece. He a little overrated on these boards. He fits a role better than Lopez but Brook is more skilled and just much bigger. Horford to me is just Horace Grant.

Atlanta Hawks are in drivers seat ..

They either package Horford + Teague gets deal done

or hope Houston Packages and rents Howard for 1 season

which will then allow them to get Howard as a FA next off season when Dwight has limited choices

Dwight **** up . If he didn't re up he would have been in BK

Now Dwight has to come back to reality that BK is no longer a option since he opted in and have spent $ elsewhere and Magic are not taking trash for him

Dwight has 4 choices where to play . Atlanta , Dallas, Cle , Hosuton

Nets offer is a joke
Bynum is not signing with Magic

Dallas as a free agent and not a trade option

Hawks and Chicago could both put some nice packages for Dwight together, but I haven't heard anything about Chicago so I doubt it's in their plans to break up their core for a guy who doesn't want to re-sign. (Dwight Rose championship would have to be Adidas dream much more than both in different markets).

Atlanta makes more sense because they can swing for the fences and rebuild if it all fails and wouldn't be breaking up a contending core like Chicago. Dwight and Josh could likely get Monta to sign their relatively cheap and they could still have room to go for a PG like Lowry.

Plus, (although many people may not know or guess it) Atlanta is a major media market as far as television networks, studios, production etc. go so Dwight could still make all the money he wants in endorsements. Playing in Indianapolis never stopped Peyton Manning from being an endorsement guy.

LA is right where they want to be once the Nets are out of it.

If LA trades for Dwight he isn't going anywhere
If Houston does, he probably is gone.. to Dallas
If Atlanta does... no idea, but I think he would stay.
If Orlando keeps him (not that it would happen), I think he goes to Dallas
If another team rents him, I think he does to Dallas.

Looks like it's coming down to...

Bynum, MWP, Blake
for
Dwight, J.Rich

And offer from Atlanta that trumps that given Bynum is a flight risk.

Bynum is signing wherever he gets the most money. HE already said so before, as long as they have a bank. He has 2 rings, and now wants to be the man on his own team and not play in Kobe's shadow.

Houston is easily better. they can offer bigger expirings, young promising players on rookie contracts and take Dwight+Jrich. Plus, Orlando wouldnt be trading them in their own division and seeing him 4 times a year.

You are begining to sound a little like the Nets fan Shaheen
