If you're giving yourself the authority to put your hands on another man who is not even committing a crime and you injure him, you should be held 100% responsible for that. Arena security guards are not police, they are employees of a corporation.

RIP though.... and if they didn't have a legit reason to kick him out, someone is going to be in serious trouble.

The way I see it is that, the guy goes to games all the times and act the same, why is this time different?

OTOH, he should be prepared in his mind to be carried out, but obviously he's a emotional kinda guy. God, it's just a game, cheering for the away team so what?

Yeah but you fight that after you're thrown out. You don't say "I'm not budging" when the security to MSG is asking you to please leave the building. You have to be one cruel **** to see a handicapped man just enjoying the game, not causing any problem and still kick him out. It just makes no sense.

I'm just saying, there are better ways to handle things if you think you're being mistreated. And I find it incredibly ridiculous that they'd just throw him out for no reason at all. So I'm not blaming anyone here, but this story is super fishy to me.

I'm sure they had reasons...its whether they were valid or not.
He was rooting hard for the Nets in a game the Nets were winning, during a season where the Knicks are abysmal. Considering the links I provided including those saying he was cheering loudly but positively for the Nets and the section chanting let him stay, I do wonder if he needed to be asked to leave...especially from an arena like MSG known for having loud and passionate fans.(if all the rude and unruly Knick fans were removed from Barclays the place would be half empty) Also, I'm not sure why they had the right to arrest him if he didn't put his leg back on either. But at the very least these are paid security guards. They cannot drop someone on the steps as they carry him out if that's what they are forced to do.

Sure there are better ways to handle things but I can understand what he was doing, during the heat of the moment, being that kinda guy. It makes no sense for police or security to be cruel? Well, that happens a lot. Especially since there were complains from other Knicks fans. My guess is that these people don't wanna confront him since as you said, he's handicapped and they'd look bad, so they go backhanded.

Other fans complained about him:

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_ ... sg-removal
"An unruly fan was ejected after MSG security received multiple complaints from fans sitting in that area," the New York Knicks said via a team spokesperson. "The fan was warned multiple times before being removed. He will not be permitted back into Madison Square Garden."

Vanchiro disputes the notion that he was being unruly.

He said he was subdued during the first half but started getting into it as the Nets made a run in the third quarter. Vanchiro was dancing and yelling, but he said it was with only half as much intensity as at a normal Nets home game.

"I started saying, 'Too easy! Too easy!' and then all hell broke loose," Vanchiro said.

Vanchiro ended up removing his prosthetic leg before security came and took him away, calling the action "passive resistance." He eventually got it back following the incident.

"I'm not a bad guy. I'm not a bad guy," Vanchiro said. "Did I think I was gonna get arrested? No, because I didn't break the law. Is annoying people a crime? Is it? I would hope not.

"People don't realize, when you're annoyed, that's your problem. Don't be annoyed. Be happy."

Vanchiro, 38, grew up a fan of both the Knicks and Nets from the time he was 8 years old. He said his idol growing up was Nets point guard Kenny Anderson. He said that when he was a boy, he used to get into MSG through a veteran security person with whom he has since lost contact.

I take a statement from MSG defending their actions with a grain of salt. I more prefer the first hand accounts and quotes that I linked. And I'm sure some did complain about him...some Net fans have as well because he's loud, passionate and likes to dance...which he has been doing for years at both arenas. What was different now other than the Nets were beating the Knicks pretty well in the third quarter and the Knicks are having an embarrassing season.

Wait, so you're saying the securities themselves are ardent fans and wanted to take him out? Rather than some of the more disgruntled fans getting agitated and started complaining? Or you mean someone from the team or arena decided to do something about it?

I think there is a lot of frustration surrounding the Knicks this season from the fans, players, employees and ownership. I don't know what lead to their decision but again what is so much different about that night than any other night for Jeff G.? He was a season ticket holder for the Knicks for some time and he's always been known as the dancing fan. Seems odd that he was suddenly being unruly especially relative to some fans in MSG (or the ones that take over Barclays)

His family could have won a ton of money in a court case suing that Jeffrey Gamblero was kicked out, forced to take off his leg, humiliated, and intentionally injured because he was disabled and this was BEFORE he killed himself. Now if the family sues they will essentially win the lottery

"Man, he was a tremendous fan,” Deron Williams said following practice on Monday. “You call him the ‘super fan.’ He was a guy you knew he would be there pretty much every day. You knew the energy he was going to bring. You were going to see that neon shirt, glasses, and so it’s definitely a tragedy to hear about him passing.”

Williams recalled the first time he saw Gamblero, whose dance moves from the aisle were often transmitted onto the arena’s jumbotron for all the fans to see.

“I was just like, who is this crazy guy dancing and carrying on?” Williams said. “But like I said, he was a great fan and you could tell that he loved the Nets. I can’t remember not seeing him out there.”

The Nets plan on honoring Gamblero at Tuesday’s home game against the Miami Heat, though a team spokesman wouldn’t reveal what form the tribute will take.

“He was a huge part of (the atmosphere at Barclays),” center Brook Lopez said. “He definitely brought unique energy to the environment and it was shocking. It was tough for me to hear. It was definitely sad.”

Lopez noted that while some fans could be negative, Gamblero was unabashedly pro-Brooklyn.

He was such an integral part of the in-game experience that the team invited him on their trip to London last season.

“I definitely could appreciate that,” Lopez said of Gamblero’s positivity. “We get plenty of negative attitude from fans, home and away, and he always brought positive energy and he always had our back. He was there for us. We were just proud for him to be a part of our organization and be a part of our team.”

I doubt he was particularly unruly, probably just some people gotten bitter.
